Pingle The App

Pingle is an app that helps people to do more things together- in real life! Yes, you did hear us right in real life and not on the Internet! Pingle works with locals and gives you inspiration for things to do in your area.

Pingle keeps you updated on what’s going on in your local area, their main goal is to get people off their phone and out into the real-world meeting new people!

Pingle uses #’s where you can use the tags as a way of describing who you are and what you like to do. That way Pingle can find more people like yourself and suggest personalised activities that you might like to take part in.

Is there a restaurant you have been wanting to try for a while but don’t have anyone to go with? Or Is there a gym class that you are too scared to go alone? If you have an idea of your own, then why not download Pingle and invite others along.

Pingle is easy to download, simply go onto your app store and install it, oh and you want to know the best thing? It’s totally free! Once the app is installed you can set up an account using your mobile number or Facebook Account.

We know exactly what Pingle we would do, it would be a morning run around the city. Running in the morning before work is the perfect way to start your day and it’s even better when you can run with a group of like minded people! The run would be a 5 mile run and would happen each week on a Wednesday morning at 7am! Oh and it would have to end with a coffee at the end of course! We would arrange with a local coffee shop a bag drop off scheme and in return people would buy a coffee post run (if they wanted to)!

We are already getting so excited about our Pingle idea that we are going to have to create it as soon as possible! We love the idea of bringing like minded individuals together!

Our love for hiking/walking

You probably already know this by now but we just LOVE walking/hiking! There is something about being outside in the fresh air using your legs to get from A to B, taking in the views, chatting and just enjoying the world we live in! Sometimes we like to go on adventurous hikes, rucksack, supplies for the day, compass, map you name it, other times we like to go for a gentle walk around where we live, we also love walking around London and using our legs to get from A to B rather than using the tube.

In the winter we love wrapping up warm with a coat, scarf, gloves and going for a nice long walk, sometimes a stop in a pub is also involved. In the summer we like to take advantage of the beautiful weather and heading out for a long walk, just don’t forget that bottle of water.

The one thing we cannot recommend enough is a good pair of hiking boots and of course a comfy pair of socks. It is important to invest in a super comfy pair of walking boots, we use this website to find the perfect pair of boots, there are lots to choose from, and they may not be the sexiest but let us tell you, walking boots are so comfy and make that long hike a lot easier! Now you have your boots it’s important to get some good socks to wear with them, we really like the Bridgedale brand and love the variety of colours and how soft they are – check them out here.

If you are an adventurous person and like camping and hiking, then you can purchase a camping mat to ensure you get a good nights sleep! When I was in campervan in Canada I could’ve really done with a good sleeping mat as the ‘bed’ in the campervan was not super comfy, so we cannot recommend investing in a good camping mat enough.

HunkeMoller HKMX Product Review

We love finding new fitness brands and loved recieving these fab tops from hunkemoller. The tops we are wearing are the HKMX Blogger Xenia Mesh Tank Top! We both have them in a size XS and they fit perfectly!

The tops retail at £20 which we think is a fair price especially as the quality is really good. The fabric is incredibly soft and very comfortable (we have trialled and tested in several workouts).

The newest HKMX sports collection is perfect and so chic! It’s fashionable but also functional. You will find outfits for all kinds of activities including high impact sports such as running or boxing. They also have outfits perfect for yoga and other low impact sports.

More and more brands these days are offering more than just the product and are also ensuring the packaging is just as nice. To be honest we can see why because nice packaging that looks inviting is so nice to receive and also people are more likely to photograph and post to social media, which is free advertising for the company!

Hunkemoller didn’t disappoint with their cute packaging it was pretty and pink and we absolutely loved it!

The entire collection is so beautiful and we definitely have our eyes on some of the other products. We love the baby pink cropped sweater, the baby pink high neck branded sweater is also BEAUTIFUL! In fact we would wear the entire collection!

If you love the colour pink then this collection is most definitely for you (don’t worry there are plenty of other colours if you aren’t). We LOVE pink at the moment it’s one of our favourite colours so as you can imagine we are completely crushing over this collection.

You can purchase this collection on the Hunke Moller website.

The only regret you will make is wishing you started sooner

We will be completely honest with you here, we have a regret about our blog and Instagram and that is not starting it sooner. I mean maybe it wasn’t the right time for us if we had started earlier, it wasn’t like we sat around for ages pondering on whether or not to create a blog, it’s probably best that we take you back to the begging and where this crazy journey begun.

In October 2015 we decided to start a blog, we don’t remember why and we really cannot remember the conversation we had around it, which is really unlike us because we both have incredible memories for things like that but it’s been erased from both of our memories. Maybe we cannot remember because we didn’t see it as being a significant conversation or decision in our lives at the time, it was just meant to be a hobby where we documented some of our lives.

Fast forward 2 and a bit years and we absolutely love it, we don’t know what we used to do before our blog like seriously we must have been so bored. We spend every spare hour of the day we have working on our blog; writing blog posts, creating Instagram content, filming YouTube videos, answering emails and the list could really go on and on and on.

Our dream is to work full time on our blog we want to earn enough money so we don’t have to have a standard 9-5 job, we know this is also so many other bloggers dreams but you know what we think if we work hard enough our dreams can come true. No dream is too big if you put your mind to it, after all the only adventure you will regret is the one you didn’t take.

If you haven’t started a dream that you have been dreaming of doing whether that is a starting a blog, going travelling, moving in with someone or changing jobs you can do it!

So bring on the late nights, early mornings, copious amounts of coffee and constant hard work! We are ready to work harder than ever on our blog in 2018 and you know what we are already off to a good start and it’s only mid Jan, bring on the rest of the year.

How to cope with stress

We all go through stressful situations in life and some people can deal with the situations better than others. We have compiled a little list of how to deal with things when life throws you a curveball.

Exercise- The endorphin’s that are released relax you and also make you feel happier. We find that exercising helps us to relax and also to clear our heads and forget about the stresses in life. In particular we love going on a long run which helps clear your head and its just you, your thoughts and the big outdoors

Talking to people- Talking to people about how you feel will always make you feel better. Like the saying goes, a problem shared is a problem halved. Make sure you have supportive friends around you to make you feel better and to talk things out.

Cooking/baking- We find that being in the kitchen and doing something productive is another great way to deal with feel stressed or worried. We really find baking to be very therapeutic and often after a bad day/week at work you will find us in the kitchen making some chocolate brownies or banana bread.

Shopping- Sometimes by treating yourself it makes you feel better and sometimes you deserve to be spoilt. Go and buy yourself a new top or handbag.

Chocolate- Chocolate may not be the answer but we know how tasty chocolate is, and sometimes you just need to enjoy that bag of maltesers or chocolate buttons. You should never feel guilty for stopping by the shops to grab your favourite chocolate to cheer you up and make you feel better.

We would love to know how you de stress as well! Let us know in the comments 😊

Walking In The Woods

Do you ever just wake up in the morning and all you fancy doing is going for a long walk through the woods? We LOVE walking we think it does wonders for the mind and we always feel so much better for it.

There is something about getting out of bed on a Sunday morning, putting on some trainers, our scruffy clothes and getting outside to enjoy the fresh air in this beautiful world we live in. Sundays are usually our rest days from the gym so instead we slow down the pace and just go for a casual stroll instead, it’s the only time of the week where we actually slow down, no wonder our minds work at 100mph if our bodies are doing exactly the same.

We have both been lucky enough to grow up with the woods just a stone throw away and trust us we don’t take it for granted, we absolutely love it and we make the most of it wherever possible.  Sunday morning are always so peaceful we rarely see another soul, which always surprises us as we always expect to see lots of people, although saying that  most people are probably enjoying a lazy Sunday in bed  as we are known to wake up unusually early.  You will see us out in the woods come rain, snow or shine, we especially love it in the snow it’s like our own little winter wonderland where we can pretend we are in Narnia it’s truly is beautiful.

We have never understood why people HATE walking? Walking is free and one of the easiest ways to get fit and become more active yet so many people hate it. As a society it has become too easy to get from A to B without using your legs, there are so many different types of transport these days it has resulted in us not having to walk.

We are those people that think it’s possible to WALK anywhere and everywhere, we recently saw a meme on Facebook of this and it made us laugh because that is us down to a T! We always try and beat the Google Maps whenever we walk anywhere it’s become a little game we have, because we are so COOL!

Post Christmas Fitness Classes in London

Almost everyone’s Fitness motivation is on a high come the 2nd of January once everyone has got over their NYE hangover and wants to start living a healthier life, it is a new year new start bla bla bla. We are here to help you choose some classes that will help whip you back into shape.

Barrys Bootcamp- it’s time to sweat out all the wine and mince pies you have consumed over the Christmas break and nothing is going to make you sweat like Barry’s Bootcamp. You can read our previous review here where we go into so much more detail, but we would definitely recommend the full body class. Half way through the class we both turned to each other and mouthed ‘I am going to chunder’ it was funny as we did it at the same time but luckily we didn’t because that would have been embarrassing.

One 10 cycle-if you haven’t read our One 10 review before you can find it here. We will definitely be showing our face in One 10 during the month of January it is such a fun sweaty session that will leave you wanting to go back for more. One 10 Cycle has some of the best spinning instructors in town and they are always there encouraging you whilst whipping your but into gear.

Kobox- because who doesn’t love a post christmas punching session? Kobox is located on the Kings Road so the perfect location if you want to do a spot of sale shopping afterwards. We love a Kobox class and they really get you sweaty which is always a good thing! Their tag line is perfect ‘where fight club meets night club’ because it is SO true!

Another Space- why not attend a sweaty Cycle class at Another Space. Another space is located in the heart of Soho only a short walk from Covent Garden. We love attending Olivia’s class she brings so much energy into the room it’s incredible so definitely book onto one of her classes! Oh and the shakes after the class are even more of a reason to get your butt down there they taste amazing!

6 Tips for feeling confident in the gym

gym.jpg

It took us a while to feel confident in the gym, we didn’t really know what we were doing at first, who really does? Try and be consistent with your gym schedule, going to the gym once every two weeks probably isn’t going to help your confidence in the gym so try and go more frequently.

It’s so easy to feel self conscious in the gym even the fittest leanest people feel self conscious, you are your bodies own worst critique and whilst you are stood there looking in the mirror critiquing your body the person next to you is probably doing the exact same about their body and hasn’t even noticed you stood next to them.

Below are 6 top tips to help you wave goodbye to all the worry and fear you may have had about the gym, you got dis!

1). Wear something you feel comfortable in- Remember its not a fashion show and the last thing you want is to feel uncomfortable at the gym, so why not take yourself on a little active wear shopping spree, buying new gym gear can be a great motivation and can help make you feel sassy whilst at the gym. Some of our favourite shops to buy new and affordable active wear is Primark, H&M, Newlook and Missguided.

2). Ask for help or an induction- there is no problem in asking for help instead of struggling and not knowing what to do with a machine. Most men at the gym love being asked how to work a machine so don’t be afraid to ask. If you are new to the gym why not arrange an induction class or even a one off personal training session, this should help get you on track with what you want to do at the gym.

3). Work out with a friend- it can be less intimidating and you are likely to be less scared of embarrassed to try new machines and equipment in the gym if you are both trying it together. Why not have a joint personal training session as well so you can split the cost between you if you are both new to the gym and want to learn.

4). Make a plan- decide what you want to do before you go to the gym, we like to write notes on our phones so we have a rough plan on what we want to do when at the gym. You may have to be flexible with your plan though depending on what machines are available so have a couple of ideas in mind so you have something to fall back on.

5). Go off peak or at a quieter time- if you can, we know its not always possible with work commitments etc. but if you can try and go a slightly quieter times. Friday evenings in the gym are the dream!

6). Watch YouTube videos- we love watching workout videos on YouTube, they are a great way to learn new tips and techniques that you can put into practice when you are next at the gym. There are so many amazing fitness YouTubers out there! You can read all about our favourites here.

Barry’s Bootcamp London Review

This is the room where everything becomes possible. Where you push through the “I can’t’s” and “If Only’s.” Where you run faster, lift more, lean out, quiet down. This is what transformation looks like. Where you become the best version of yourself. – Barry’s Bootcamp

Barrys

We had wanted to try Barry’s Bootcamp for a really long time and we finally got round to purchasing a class.  We booked ourselves into the 11:00am full body class one Saturday and we were super excited to to try the workout that has been the talk of London town for a while.

We had read on the website that we needed to turn up to the class 15 minutes before the class so being super keen beans we somehow managed to turn up 40 minutes before hand (we blame google maps it always says it takes longer than it does!). When we arrived we were checked in and each given towel- luxury.

After checking out the post workout shake menu we headed straight to the changing rooms and we were already impressed. When people say it is the small things in life that make you happy they are certainly right, the changing rooms were equipped with GHD straighteners, hair dryers, hair spray, deodorant, tampons- you name it they had it.

As it was our first time the instructor took us into the room beforehand, the lights were dimmed and there were bright red lights lighting up the room. The instructor Briefed us on how to use the treadmills before inviting the rest of the class to join.

When booking into a class on Barry’s you have to decide whether or not you want to start on the treadmill or on the floor, we opted for the treadmill. The class was a mixture between interval and strength training. We sprinted until our legs nearly fell off and lifted weights heavier than we would usually opt for, we pushed our bodies and it felt blooming fantastic.

When people say Barrys Bootcamp is hard they certainly were not lying! It was the sweatiest we have ever been and probably the hardest workout we have ever been to but we loved it and we cannot wait to go back again!

After the class we jumped in the shower, which by the way were amazing the shampoo smelt incredible. Once we were dressed and refreshed and the last ones out of the changing rooms we headed to the refuel bar to order a shake. We stupidly didn’t order them before our class so we had to wait about 20 minutes as they were busy making lots of shakes ready for the next class so top tip pre-order your shake guys. The shakes were reasonably priced costing us £5.00 each and trust us when we say they were a decent size as well.

Barry’s costs £20 per class but you can also purchase packages and the more classes you buy at once the cheaper each class becomes. We definitely think it is worth the money but it isn’t something we would choose to go to every week as it would become incredibly expensive, we will be returning though!

We Vlogged the day we went to Barry’s so if you want to see more you can catch up on our vlog here.

How to spend a healthy day in London

We love spending a healthy day in London. A typical day for us would be the below, we love trying new classes and new food especially brunch food!

Attend a class/ visit a new gym- There are so many great fitness classes in London, it would be impossible for us to name them all but some of Londoners favourites include; Barry’s boot camp, F45, unit London, Kobox and bests bootcamp. You can also look on the app ‘class pass’ where you will discover hundreds more classes. If classes aren’t really your thing you could always look on the ‘payasugym’ app where you can search by location for a gym.

Go for brunch- Brunch is massive in London, everyone seems to be having brunch these days which is great if you love breakfast food as it means you can eat it for both breakfast and lunch. Some of our favourite brunch spots in London include; daisy greens which is behind Marble Arch, Mauriels kitchen in South Kensington, The good life eatery, Daylesfood farm in Marylebone high street, Grind (lots of locations), Chiltern Firehouse and so many more!

Rent a boris bike- Renting Boris bikes or Santander bikes is so much fun and a great way to explore London. It is an absolute bargain as well, it only costs £2 for 24 hours meaning you could cycle your way around London. We especially love cycling through the London parks as cycling on the busy London roads can be slightly terrifying to say they least!

Walk- don’t use the tube- We have a rule that when we are visiting London we walk everywhere! We hate getting the tube it’s so busy and also can get really expensive if you are using it all the time. Most places in London are a lot closer to each other than you probable think. Next time before you hop on the tube open your google maps and look at how far away you are, you’ll be surprised at how little time you save getting the tube. Walking also means you get to explore parts of London that you perhaps wouldn’t have seen otherwise. We always like to take the scenic route in the hunt to find the hidden gems of London.
