An idylic visit to Toad Hall Lodges

If you are looking for an idyllic nature retreat then Toad Hall Lodges in Suffolk is the perfect spot. Ideal for a couples getaway or why not bring your closest pals along for a fun filled adventure weekend. Surrounded by corn fields and un spoilt beauty this place is tranquil and the best way to switch off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Although Toad Hall Lodges are located in the middle of nowhere there is plenty of things to keep you occupied whether you fancy a trip to the beach, a walk in the countryside or a day out exploring the cute shops Southwold. Toad Hall Lodges is the perfect base to have a mixture of adventure and chill.

There are 5 lodges that each sleep 2 and each come with a designated shower/toilet room so you don’t have to worry about sharing. There is also a communal kitchen which includes a BBQ, grill, oven, fridge and so much more.

The interior of the lodges are quaint and stylish and makes you feel immediately at home. It was such a treat being able to wake up to views of cornfields with a morning coffee in hand. Each Lodge comes with a Nespresso machine and Grind pods which are delicious.

The beds were super comfy and the pillows were nice and squishy. We also liked the dressing gowns they were perfect when heading to the shower in the morning.

With there being a communal kitchen on site this gives you the option to eat on site and bring your own food and drink to enjoy. However should you fancy going out for dinner we went to The Angel Inn in Wangford which is just a 20 minute walk from the Lodges. We cannot recommend put enough the food was absolutely delicious (we wish we had space of pudding) and the Malbec was just what we needed.

Head to the Wangford Farm Shop (8 minute walk) to pick up some essentials for lunch or breakfast but if you fancy more choice and a butchers we would recommend Emmerdale Farm Shop (15 minute drive) where you can also grab a coffee at the Bakehouse next door! If you are looking for a brunch or tasty treat we would recommend visiting Two Magpies Bakery (11 minute drive) where you can enjoy copious amounts of freshly baked treats and on a Friday they serve pizza from 4:30pm-8:00PM.

There are plenty of walking trails located in the area but if you fancy short evening walk we would recommend heading to Reydon Woods or for a longer adventure head Southwold where you can walk along the estuary and enjoy a day in a quintessentially English coastal town.
