We were super lucky to be invited to Koffmann and Mr White’s in Bath, it was our first invite to a restaurant ran by Michilin starred chefs so we were super excited!

Koffmann & Mr White is located in the gorgeous Abbey Hotel. It is an English/French Brasserie and they have recently launched their new spring menu.

We visited the Art bar before being seen to our table for a drink which as you may guess is covered in lots of art! The inside is beautiful and offers table service of a variety of drinks from wines, spirits and of course cocktails! We watched them making the cocktails and they certainly are expert mixologists!

If you visit on a sunny day day then you can also sit outside on the terrace, but table service is not offered here and you have to order at the bar.

We decided to go for a gin each, the nice thing about these gins is that the menu suggests what mixer and garnish to go for, the bar tender does ask if you are happy with the choice, and of course you will go for what they suggest as they know best!!! Rach went for one which came with a light mixer, juniper berries and lemon slice. Annie went for the Hendrinks gin, served with a cucumber slice & elderflower and cucumber tonic.

We enjoyed our drinks outside in the glorious sunshine before heading inside to our table for dinner.

The restaurant were relatively quiet when we arrived as it had only just opened for the evening. We were able to choose our table so of course we went for the marble effect table (got to think of those photographs!)

We ordered a large glass of wine each, Rioja for Annie and Malbec for Rach! Both of the wines were delicious and so easy to drink!

We also ordered some olives & sourdough bread with salted butter to nibble on whilst we studied the menu. The olives came in a cute pot and the sourdough was slightly warm- it was so delicious!

To start Rachel ordered The onion soup which was simply delicious and full of so much flavour, it had lots of croutons in it and was topped with melted guyerre cheese. We would definitely recommend this dish when visiting!

Annie opted for the Iman Bayildi salad, smoked salmon which was basically a cold aubergine salad full of so much flavour! We actually had to google what this dish was and we are so glad we did! It was served with smoked salmon and creme fraiche.

For main we both went for the steak, there are two types on the menu, we went for Marco’s signature fillet steak. Steak is something that we do not often eat, so when it’s an option on the menu was have to order it, its such a treat!

We also decided to share the beef fat chips and green salad. We order our steaks medium rare and they were cooked to perfection. The steak was massive and we loved every bite. The steak was on top of bread and also covered in a garlic herb sauce, it was served with spinach and mushrooms too.

For dessert again it was super hard to choose, we wanted to try something different but also as the menu is pretty much in French we didn’t know what things were.

We asked our lovely waitress Sara to talk us thorugh the menu, we had also checked out pictures on the Koffmann & White Instagram so she was able to tell us what everything was. Due to this, Rach ended up going for something she didn’t think she would pick, the Oeufs à la neige. Translated this means ‘snow eggs’ However it was basically meringue topped with hard caramel swimming in caramel – light and delicious and the best way to end a meal.

Annie went for the chocolate mousse, which was rich (70% chocolate), but also very chocolately. It was topped with hazelnut nougatine and sweetened cream and she enjoyed every mouthful- it was just divine.

We had the most amazing experience here, the food was out of this world and the service was exceptional – thanks to our waitress Sara, you were lovely.

We would highly recommend visiting here for a special occasion when in Bath, it certainly isn’t your average meal out as Koffmann and Mr White is most certainly beyond average!
