By Chloe Review

NEW VEGAN PLACE TO EAT IN LONDON ALERT! IF YOU HAVEN’T HEARD ABOUT IT WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

By Chloe is a new vegan restaurant in the heart of London. This restaurant has come over from America and is taking London by a storm.

Located in Covent Garden opposite 42nd Street the premises are surprisingly huge. We didn’t know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised at how large the restaurant was.

The great thing about By Chloe is that it is not table service so this meant there was no queue for a table and we didn’t struggle to find a table either. However we did go on a Monday afternoon so it was probably more quiet than usual.

Guests order their food from the counter and are given a receipt, the staff call your name out once your food or drink is ready.

We were surprised to see that at the weekend there is more choice on the menu and they offer a weekend brunch menu. We want to return to try the pancakes on this menu as they took our fancy.

We decided to go for the pasta pot as we had just come from a gym class. The one we opted for was the avocado-cashew pesto pasta which was served with cherry tomatoes and vegan Parmesan. We chose the large pot and oh my it was so filling that we actually struggled to finish it, the sauce was so creamy and flavoursome.

There was also vegan mac and cheese which was made from sweet potatoes. We were not brave enough to try this, but maybe next time.

Other items on the menu included salad, burgers, juices, fries, cupcakes and even treats for your pets!

We both ordered an iced latte made with almond milk which was small but delicious! We have been craving an iced latte for a while so it definitely hit the spot.

We absolutely loved the decor of the place, you could sit on circle tables, benches or even in a swinging chair. The iconic Guac Save the Queen sign was also lit up and made the most instagramable picture.

There was also a filter tap for water and agave nectar bottles too. However our highlight was the pile of colouring sheets and pots of crayons you could help yourself to to colour in whilst you wait. Food was served on a tray and a colouring paper sheet lined the tray too which was such a kitsch idea.

Let us know if you decide to visit and what you think!

Brunch review: Bills

Bills is a well-known restaurant located around the UK,  in the last few years more and more Bills seem to be popping up which we absolutely love and it means wherever you visit you are usually close to one.  We love visiting Bills we have never been served a bad meal and the staff are always incredibly friendly.

We visit regularly for lunch and dinner but we had never been for brunch before, We are just as surprised as you are we are not sure how this has happened?

One of our friends recently invited us to her engagement brunch and her restaurant of choice was Bills which we were SO chuffed about. We did of course take a look at the menu beforehand (who doesn’t) and we already wanted to taste EVERYTHING on the menu. Why it is that brunch food is always SO good, it makes it so hard to choose what to have.

The breakfast/brunch menu includes; full English fry ups (meat and veggie of course), coconut porridge, bacon or sausage bap, a selection of buttermilk pancakes and lots of egg dishes.

Rach went for the buttermilk pancakes served with streaky bacon and maple syrup, they were SO delicious. The three pancakes were like a dream they were light and fluffy and cooked until golden brown they were incredibly filling and the portion size was perfect. The Bacon was extra crispy (our favourite) and the generous maple syrup completed the dish perfectly.

Annie opted for the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on wholemeal toast with which again was amazing. It would have been even better if they had served it with a wedge of lemon on the side, but saying that the waitress was more than happy to go and get some. The dish was filling and really delicious but then again you cannot really go wrong with this dish.

Other members of our party went for the full fry up and we have to say when it was served to them we did have a bit of food envy going on. It looked SO delicious and we especially noticed the quality of the sausages they looked so succulent YUM!

Bills is such good value for money the total of our brunch came to £12 each and that was for our food, drink and a tip on top! We couldn’t believe it we thought it was going to be a lot more than that so it was a pleasant surprise.

The atmosphere in Bills is one of the main reasons why we love it so much, it has chilled vibes and the staff are always really friendly.

Barcelona Brunchin’

There seems to be a theme going on here, first we had Budapest Brunchin’ and now its off to Barcelona for a spot of brunch.

As with the visit to Budapest we found all our brunch places in Barcelona from Instagram. We used the hashtag #barcelonabrunch and #barcelonacoffee and our list of places to go just got longer and longer. Sadly we only managed to visited 3 places for Brunch (we were only there for 3 days!), however will also share the other places we wanted to visit, and you will have to let us know what you think/share photos to make us jealous!

1) Brunch and Cakethere are 4 Brunch and Cake’s in Barcelona (Brunch and Cake, Travel and Cake, Cup and Cake, Brunch and Cake by the Sea) but we decided to visit Brunch and Cake by the Sea as this was the closest one to our hotel, and it had outside seating too. The pictures on Instagram of this place looked amazing and we wanted to go there long before Zanna mentioned it on her vlog! However after she visited, we knew we had to as we knew it would be good! The food was so colourful and the menu was expansive and there was so much to choose from. However one issue we did have and we will be honest here is that you cannot make alterations to ANYTHING on the menu which we think was a little silly. Okay, we understand for the food as it does make life easier for the chefs, but for the drinks too….. really? All we wanted to do was have almond milk instead of coconut milk in a smoothie but no. Anyway rant over, at least if you are to visit you all now know that you cannot change any dishes or drinks and have to take them as they are. This means you may want to look at the menu in detail before going. On a positive note the food and drinks we enjoyed were delicious and most certainly an Instagramers dream. Definitely check this place out if you are off to Barcelona.

2) Mr Robinson – this place is tucked away and isn’t somewhere you would just stumble across. There is inside and outside seating and the decor is amazing and the staff are lovely. We loved our brunch here and again the menu was amazing with so much to choose from and dishes to suit all needs. We would 100% recommend the smoothie bowls if you go as they we DELICIOUS!

3) Alsur Cafeoh wow this cafe is so cute situated on a beautiful square with an amazing outside terrace. The food here is very unique and quirky we loved the waffle sandwich it was divine. Again so much food to choose from that you want to spend the whole day here eating and drinking.

4) Topico BCN – We didn’t have a chance to visit here, however their Instagram is so bright and colourful it looks amazing, everything seems to be served with flowers! If we had another day here we would certainly be taking a visit here.

5) Green and Berrythis place was a little too far away from our hotel to visit for brunch and we were also too far to have the food delivered by Deliveroo (trust us we did look into it as we wanted to sample the food so bad!). Described as a health food store the food and brunch in particular looks amazing from here, their Instagram account leaves us drooling!

6) Flax and Kale – we literally love their Instagram account and spied their healthy ice cream so we HAD to go! There is Flax and Kale and also Flax and Kale a porter (takeaway). We really really wish we had a chance to return here and sample their brunch as it looks amazing. The cafe is pretty big and there is outside seating too which is a bonus.

7) Cocuy Cafe – Another cafe that looks like Instagram heaven, here you can get brunch and also bagels and smoothies too. Just stalk their Instagram and it will make you instantly hungry!

8) El Flako (Cornflakes and co) – this is basically a cereal cafe and as we are both cereal lovers we wish we could’ve visited here too. Guess we will just had a to make a return visit to Barcelona. If you love cereal, then this is the perfect place to grab some breakfast/brunch

9) Milk – located in the gothic quarter is this quaint cafe that also serves brunch. We opted not to visit here as we wanted to brunch at places with outside seating. However their menu and food looked divine.
