Kababji is located on The Broadway in Wimbledon which is about a 10 minute walk from South Wimbledon station. They only have the one restaurant in London but they will soon be opening their doors in a new Birmingham branch.
Kababji serve freshly prepared Lebanese food in a fast causal setting. Perfect for a quick bite to eat, takeaway and also the perfect setting for a sit down meal.
There is a wide variety to choose from on the Kababji menu so you definitely won’t be stuck for choice. The menu includes wraps, Beirut boxes, Kababji feasts, sides and drinks!
We both went for a Beirut box as they looked delicious! Turmeric rice forms the base of the Beirut box which is light, fluffy and so tasty! It is also served with Lebanese salad of lettuce, tomato, cucumber and light vinaigrette and Kababji Hummus.
When ordering a Beirut box the waiter will ask you which skewer you want in your box and we both went for the chicken taouk without the garlic paste. The meal is also served with fresh pickles and warm Khobez bread both of which are delicious!
As we are sitting inside the restaurant out box was served on a plate (which we were happy about) instead of it being served in an actual box. If you were to take the meal away then they would place it in a cardboard box for you!
To go with our Beirut box we also ordered a side of hummus (we didn’t realise we got hummus in our box at the time). We also ordered some chicken wings which are grilled and marinated for 24 hours in their signature sauce and served with their special sumac garlic sauce.
The portion sizes are absolutely HUGE and we actually struggled to finish what was on our plate! We definitely didn’t need to order the extra portion of hummus because they are super generous with the amount they serve you in the Beirut box.
There were lots of sauces that you could help yourself to on the side and this is also where you pick up your knife and fork!
We had a lovely evening at Kababji and we really couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough! We left feeling really satisfied and very much enjoyed the food we were served!
