Pali Kitchen is located in the heart of the city just a short walk from Bank Station right by Annie’s work, so it was the perfect spot for us to meet for lunch. They have recently launched a new Vegan/Vegetarian menu and we were invited down to try it. We are not actually vegetarian or vegan ourselves, but we do often eat vegan and vegetarian food.
The thing we liked about Pali was the fact that none of the food was processed. We find that sometimes vegan menus can include a lot of processed food and it doesn’t usually sit well in our tummies.
We found Pali kitchen on the Nutrifix app, if you haven’t downloaded this app you really should as it always helps us find cool quirky places for lunch or dinner in London. Upon arriving we were greeted by Anu the owner of Pali Kitchen is, he was very welcoming as were the rest of the staff at Pali’s Kitchen (something that is so important).
Rachel ordered the Paneer Tikka rice box with a topping of coriander, she also picked the Mint and Coriander Raita (vegetarian not vegan) dressing. The rice box was so delicious and really filling, we sometimes find that paneer can be a little bland if not flavoured well but this was not the case the tikka sauce was mouth wateringly good. The rice box had a mixture of brown and white rice which made a nice change as opposed to just having one or the other.
Annie ordered the Paneer Tikka Salad box and she also had a topping of Coriander and had the mint and coriander raita dressing sauce. The tikka salad box would be the perfect choice if you are looking for something a little lighter over lunch time. They are incredibly generous on the paneer portion size this didn’t go unnoticed and we almost couldn’t finish it all.
For sides we had 2 vegetarian samosas which were full of flavour, but we did say it would have been better if they were served hot as opposed to cold, but they did still taste yummy. We also ordered the superfood medley which consisted of broccoli, edamame beans, petit pois peas tossed in coconut oil. It had quite a strong turmeric flavour, so if you are not a fan of turmeric then you probably wouldn’t like the superfood medley.
We were also served Dahi Puri which is a new dish on the Indian street food menu. This dish was so delicious, it has pomegranate on top and also chick peas in the middle!
Overall, we had such a lovely lunch at Pali Kitchen and we cannot recommend it enough. It is the perfect lunch spot to sit and enjoy your lunch, but it is also the perfect if you are in a rush as you can just grab and go.
