Okay so we are obsessed with Italian food, but even more so after our visit the Cinque Terre. If you are planning a visit then check out these food recommendations, or it may inspire you to book a visit.

Pizza

Pizzeria La Smorfia in Monterosso al Mare got great reviews on Trip Advisor so we decided to give it a visit and didn’t regret it. Excellent value pizza and even better value wine! The menu is huge with so many different options of pizza, from the classics to the white base to calzone. Wherever we went we also went for the local wine, despite being the cheapest option we love to eat local so enjoying glasses of red wine from the Cinque Terre was a bonus, especially when it was only €12 for a litre!!

Ristorante Pizzeria Da Ely was also recommended but we didn’t manage to visit here! If you are staying in Monterosso and fancy pizza another night then head here and report back to us!

Cheese & Meat Platters

Our favourite meal to enjoy are these cheese and meat platters. We had an epic one in Milan so knew we wanted to enjoy in Cinque Terre too. We originally wanted to go to Nessum Dorma in Manarola, their Instagram is dreamy and its an influencers paradise with the best photo opportunities. There is also a queue here as its so popular. On the day we wanted to go it was shut 🙁

However instead we went to Bar Pan e Vin in Corniglia and had the most amazing experience. The lady who ran this small establishment was lovely and the meat & cheese platter was yummy, so much so we ordered a second one!!

Also in Corniglia is the cutest bar right by the sea, there is limited seating but we waited for people to leave and it was worth it! Bar Terza Terra di Cadario Alison do great deals such a mixed bruscetta and 2 glasses of wine for €9 and the view is stunning!

Foccacia

Foccacia is a great snack to pick up on the go. When doing the day hike we picked up a slice in Vernazza and then the next day we picked up a slice in Manarola.

The shop in Manarola was called Pan & Pumate and served delicious foccacia, pizza slices and also arancini balls. You could also buy takeaway beers and glasses of wine too!

There were lots of places serving Foccacia in Vernazza, and we basically walked into them all, eying up the selection and finally decided on Batti Batti’ Focacceria that seemed to do the biggest slices, nice looking toppings and at a good price. We didn’t sample any others here but in our opinion we loved the foccacia here!

Meal with a view

We walked past this stunning restaurant when walking from Vernazza to Corniglia. La Torre has incredible views and the food looks delicious. La Torre also has excellent reviews on Trip Advisor, we are gutted we didn’t manage to visit here!

After taking the 382 stairs from Corniglia train station to the top where Corgnilia village is situated the first restaurant you come across is La Posada Ristorante and is another restaurant we wish we had time to visit. The view looks incredible and the fish dishes sound amazing!
