We had never visited Wales before so we were super excited to visit in the campervan. We had the best time so wanted to share our route as it was perfect!
First stop = South Wales
We started in South Wales as we have always wanted to visit Tiny Rebel Brewery. We had a look on Park4Night and there was church at the end of the road next to Tiny Rebel that we could stay in.
Thank you Pastor Mike for letting us camp in your carpark, we are sad we couldn’t visit your cafe as we were too late arriving and left before you opened.
Second stop = Brecon Beacons
We left our free park-up and headed bright and early to the Brecon Beacons. We had been recommend a hike which had some amazing lakes, Llyn Y Fan Fawr circular.
You can start this walk from 2 different spots, one is a popular car park so we opted not to start here. We parked on Heol Lan and for us it was perfect because it was so quiet.
This walk was simply stunning and we had the best day in the sunshine, we even managed our first ever wild swim!
We stayed in the Brecon’s for 2 nights, so the next day we headed to Pen Y Fan and had the worst weather ever! We need to return so we can actually have a view!

Third stop = Snowdonia National Park
Leaving the Brecons we headed to some stunning lakes, firstly Lake Vyrnwy and then Bala Lake. We loved Lake Vyrnwy and found a great place to park for free (right where you hire paddle boards) & enjoyed a cup of coffee right by the lake.
If you visit Bala then our highlight was the ice cream shop, it was the creamiest most flavoursome ice cream and our favourite we tasted all trip.
Of course whilst in Snowdonia we had to walk Snowdon, we did a lot of research on which route to take up to the top (there are a couple of different options!). We discovered that the Rhyd Du route was the quietest so found a campsite near here. We parked in a layby (don’t pay for the station car park!) and its the same route up and down but it was SO quiet and SO beautiful!
The top was SO busy and people were queuing for 2 hours, yes 2 hours to get a photo at the trig point. Obviously we didn’t wait and you can get just as nice pictures just below the trig.
We were also recommended to visit Watkin Path, which is actually another route up to the top of Snowdon, but we were going for the wild swimming.
We got a bit addicted to the post wild swim feeling so had to give this a go!
The falls are straight from the mountain so extremely cold but the feeling afterwards is amazing….. new hobby?!

Fourth and final stop = Llyn Peninsula
We are SO glad we visited her and we are so glad we had the best weather ever!
Highlights from the Llyn Peninsuala:
Tycoch inn: Locates in Porthdinllaen, Morfa Nefyn the only way to get to this pub is by walking. Park in the National Trust car park and take the stunning walk along the beach. Whilst here we also did a nice coastal walk and saw some seals.
Aberdaron: We parked in the National Trust car park and did a lovely coastal walk to a cove. The town was so cute with a bakery, ice cream shop and some pubs. You park super close to the beach and it’s perfect to spend the day here.
LLanbedrog Beach: Another National Trust beach and car park. The colourful beach huts are iconic and we spent the day here chilling on the beach.
Yr Eifl: This is a great mountain to climb if you want panoramic views of the penisula. There are three peaks you can climb and we found the route on all trails.
