voco St. Davids Cardiff is a 5 star luxury hotel located on Cardiff Bays waterfront. The hotel is set in an iconic glass fronted building with stunning views across the water.

Upon arrival we spoke to the receptionist who explained that you can park in either of the two car parks across the road. When looking out from the hotel the car park on the left hand side is owned by the hotel itself and you pay on checkout whereas the car park on the right hand side is council owned so you have to pay when you arrive but they both cost exactly the same.

Check in was super quick and easy we the receptionist offered for someone to carry our bags to the room but as we were only staying for the night this was not necessary- but a lovely touch! In the reception area there is lots of seating and also fruit infused water and orange juice , both of which were delicious.

We headed up to our rooms on the 3rd floor which was a King Bed Standard with Balcony and Minifridge.

The room was super spacious and there was a huge desk which was perfect if like us you had some work to do. The bed was absolutely HUGE as well as super comfortable!

The bathroom had Antipodes toiletries and the shower was incredible, if we had more time we defintely would have made use of the bath tub as well.

We would defintely recommend a room with a balcony, if the sun is shining during your stay make sure you sit on the balcony in the morning with a coffee- absolute bliss.

We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast in The Admiral Restaurant at voco St. Davids. Dinner was absolutely delicious Rach went for the white fish which was a special and Annie had the Steak which was so tasty! We also enjoyed some mini plates as starters which were also super tasty.

The breakfast spread was incredible and you will be spoilt for choice. There is everything you can imagine from cereal, fresh fruit, freshly baked pastries, full english, pancakes and so much more! We completely filled out boots.

We had a massage booked at 12pm so after checking out we headed to Cardiff Bay which is less than 5 minutes away. There are copious amounts of cafes, restaurants and bars, perfect for a pre dinner cocktail or glass of wine. Cardiff Bay is not an area of Cardiff we have previously visited but we absolutely loved it and will defintely be visiting again.

We headed back to the hotel for 11AM to ensure we had time to make use of the spa facilities before our massage. The pool was super relaxing and we had the best time chilling and reading. There is also a gym at the hotel which we checked out when we first arrived- it is not your average hotel gym at all, in-fact it was better than most ordinary gyms!

For our massages we had the following:

Annie: Ishga Tester (2 treatments 50 mins) which included a Head Massage & Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage. I have never been a huge lover of massages as I am super ticklish but this massage made me realise that that should not be the case- I absolutely loved it! I have also been wanting a good head massage for such a long time and I finally got it!

Rach: Ishga Bespoke Massage which meant she could tailor the massage to exactly what she wanted! We thought this was such a great idea and would make the perfect gift! Rach went for a back, shoulder and head massage and absolutely loved it!

Overall we had the best time at voco St. Davids and if you are thinking of staying at this hotel we 100% recommend that you do!
