Waters Edge Marsworth is situated just outside of Tring, we got the train to Tring and walked along the canal for around 1 hour as it was a beautiful sunny afternoon but you could always jump in a taxi from the train station. Waters Edge is an independently owned, family run restaurant with a sole purpose of serving delicious food and drinks in a beautiful location, and that is certainly does!
They are open 7 days a week but recently they have started opening on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings where they serve small plates and tapas. Throughout the week they serve an all day brunch menu.
They have an extensive wine list that is supplied to them by Tring Winery, all the wine expertly matches their dishes and also features wine from local vineyards- we love that! We went for a delicious Marie Christine Cotes de Provence as blush wine is our all time favourite in the summer.
The wine was served in tall thin wine glasses that made the wine even more enjoyable to drink (we love a good wine glass).
We opted to try lots of little small plates and of course shared everything, the small plates we went for were; Beef Stifado with orzo, Chicken Gourjons, Sour dough with balsamic vinegar, Chorizo, Asparagus wrapped in Palma ham and fries! It does not sound like an awful lot but we were absolutely stuffed by the end of it! Our favourite dish was definitely the Beef stifado and the chorizo as both of them were bursting with flavour.
For dessert (which we just about managed to squeeze in) we had a Tiramisu and a Knickerbocker Glory which was chocolate and vanilla ice cream with brownie bits in and lots of salted caramel sauce YUM!
As it was the England final the following day they also very kindly gifted us some England themed French fancies which were delicious- so light and fluffy!
We cannot recommend Waters Edge Marsworth enough, it was absolutely incredible and in such a beautiful setting. It would be a perfect date location or if you were looking to enjoy a girly brunch outside in the sunshine!
