Homemade banana bread has got to be the best cake EVER! We love the fact you can basically eat it at any time of the day. This one isn’t super sweet either and doesn’t have any refined sugars in it, ripe bananas are already super sweet!

We posted a similar recipe a little while back so we thought it was time for a refresh! We have adapted the recipe a little bit as well so thought we would post it again so it is easy for you to find.

If you are bored on your lunch break working from home and fancy getting in the kitchen to bake a delicious treat then this recipe is for you! It only takes around 10 mins to prep!

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 200g Self raising flour
  • 30g chopped walnuts
  • 1tsp baking powder
  • 100ml milk of your choice
  • 1 large egg
  • 1tsp maple syrup
  • Melted dark chocolate

Method

  • Pre heat the oven to 180oc
  • Line your loaf tin and grease with coconut oil or butter
  • Mash the bananas in a mixing
  • In a separate large mixing bowl combine the flour, baking powder and walnuts, once combined add the mashed banana, milk and egg and stir until well combined
  • Pour the mixture into the loaf tin
  • Put the banana bread in the oven and bake for 30 minutes until cooked throughout
  • Allow the banana bread to cool and then drizzle melted dark chocolate over the top
