Smiths Bar & Grill reached out to us on Instagram and asked us if we would like to visit their Smiths Summer Terrace in partnership with Delta of Venus flowers.
Of course we said yes, we love a flower wall and the idea of enjoying some summer cocktails in the sunshine sounded incredible! The floral installation overlooks the Gran Union Canal in Paddington and it was just very picturesque!
We started our lunch with a couple of summer cocktails it was happy hour at the time which meant it was buy one get one free! We opted for the Tim Collins which was gin, lemon juice and soda water and also the Strawberry Flapper which was prosecco, strawberry purée and creme de cassis.
Both of these drinks were super refreshing! The Gin Collins tasted like Fanta lemon (a holiday favourite of ours) and we loved the fresh strawberry purée in the Strawberry Flapper.
To start we ordered the charcuterie board which had a selection of different meats. We thought the board would be served with bread but instead it was served with crackers which was slightly different!
We also ordered the special of the day which was burrata, this is Rach’s favourite! It was so tasty and full of flavour it was served with aubergine and tomatoes!
For main the waiter recommend the steak which we were really tempted to order but it was a sunny afternoon and we just were not feeling it! BUT if we return we will definitely be ordering the steak as it looked delish!
Instead we ordered two summer salads. Annie ordered the caesar salad with grilled chicken and Rach opted for the orange and avocado salad which grilled chicken. The salads were huge and the perfect choice for lunch! We are glad we ordered a salad because even though it was super filling it meant we had room for dessert!
Which brings us nicely onto what we ordered for dessert! We shared a the trio of chocolate cake which had a chocolate brownie base and layers of chocolate and vanilla mouse. It was rich, creamy and full of flavour! We would highly recommend ordering this dessert!
We had such a lovely afternoon in Smiths Bar & Grill that we actually ended up staying there for around 3 hours. It was super relaxing and we just really enjoyed every moment of it!
We noticed several tables had opted to do bottomless brunch and instead of the waiter filling up your glasses with prosecco every 5 minutes (which lets be honest can be veeeeery annoying) they just left a bottle of prosecco on ice next to the table! So much better and they were very quick to replace the bottle once it was empty.
Thank you so much for having us Smiths Bar & Grill, we had such a lush afternoon!
