Canary Wharf isn’t usually a part of town we visit, especially at the weekends as it is known for being a bit of a ghost town at the weekends! The other weekend however, I had somewhere to be in Canary Wharf so decided to look for somewhere to have brunch afterwards.
The Parlour was our brunch spot of choice, it is located in the Park Pavilion on Canada Square which is just a 5 minutes’ walk from the station. The Parlous is a Drake and Morgan restaurant and from what we can tell it seems that they offer a standard brunch menu across all of their restaurants/bars.
The menu was fab and very reasonable as well, I booked a table to be on the safe side but upon arrival it was clear to see they had plenty of seating available. We were asked if we wanted to sit outside in there lovely alfresco terrace but there was a slight chill in the air so we opted to sit inside. The alfresco terrace had its own bar outside which is ideal especially on a hot summer’s day. By the time we left The Parlour the outside terrace was full as the sun had decided to come out to play!
I ordered the Poached eggs with Avocado & Chilli on Sourdough Toast but instead of poached eggs I opted for scrambled eggs. The dish was served but they had have forgotten I had asked for scrambled eggs as poached eggs were served. I decided to leave it instead of letting them know about the mix up- very British of me but it was still super delicious with the poached eggs.
The crushed avocado was absolutely delicious and the chilli flakes gave it a little kick. I tried to poached eggs and unfortunately they were freezing cold, so I had to send them back but when they returned they were piping hot.
My friend enjoyed the Eggs Royale which looked delicious and she said it was very tasty. They served a generous portion of smoked salmon as well which is also a good thing! You can order the Eggs Royale as a half portion for £4.50 or a full portion of £8.95.
We love the décor or The Parlour it was very millennial and there is gold EVERYWHERE! There were a selection of seats to choose from you could either sit on stalls or comfy arm chairs, we obviously went for the comfy arm chairs. We also noticed there were booths available with round tables for groups which looked super cosy.
The toilets were fancy as well and clean which is definitely a massive plus in our eyes, as you know we often judge a place by how clean the toilets are, we can’t be the only ones that do this. They had a huge jar of sweets (wrapped of course otherwise that would be gross!)
We noticed when we were on the website that you could have your wedding reception at The Parlour, we actually think this would be a great wedding venue. There are a number of different packages available so if you are getting married and haven’t yet decided on a venue go and take a look!
We would definitely return to The Parlour the food was delicious and the drinks we saw being served looked incredible. My friend has visited on a Friday after work before and said the atmosphere is great so maybe we will have to swing if we are in the area for a couple of cocktails!
