Ingredients:
-
200g butter, well softened
- 75g caster sugar, plus extra for rolling
- 150g plain flour
- 150g self-raising flour
- 1/2 teaspoon natural vanilla essence
Method:
Preheat the oven to 150 degree. Grease two baking trays with a bit of extra butter. Line the trays with baking paper so the biscuits don’t stick to the tray
Cream really soft butter and sugar together with a wooden spoon. Beat until mixture is pale and soft.
Sift in the flours. Add the vanilla essence and salt. Beat everything together with the wooden spoon, then finish off by using your hands to pull the dough together into a smooth small ball.
Put the dough on a surface lightly dusted with flour and sugar. Roll out the dough to about 5mm thick. Cut out round circles with a cookie cutter. Place on the baking trays.
Cook in the over for about 10 mins then leave to cool.
Decorate with glace icing, marshmallows and use writing icing to draw on the features.
