Rach has just moved into a new flat and her and her boyfriend have really enjoyed being ‘interior designers’ and picking bits out for the flat and Annie’s boyfriend has been doing his flat up too. So ideal timing for a post and a little tour of our favourite home bits! So we have decided to kick off the year with a tour of our new homes! (We also think homes look so much nicer at Christmas time, who wishes you could have a Christmas tree, cute decorations and twinkly lights up all year round?!)

Statment Chairs

Okay, we love statement chairs, Rach has 2 and Annies boyfriend currently has one but is on the lookout for a second one!

Annie’s boyfriends statement chair is from DFS and if you have enough space it also comes with a foot stall (very tempted to buy this as well)! The chair is super comfy and I believe it comes in several different colours oh and you can also choose from a number of different chair legs! It is quite expensive though at £379 but DFS allow you to pay it off over 5 years if you wish!

Rach’s grey one sits in the living room and for Christmas we added the cute Christmas cushion which goes perfectly. The chair is from The Range and the cushion was H&M last year.

The orange chair sits in the bedroom and is a great addition to the orange and grey themed rooms.

Plants

Plants are just great and not just the great Christmas tree (delivered by Fantastic Services!). We love our cheese plant and it took us ages to find one as they are quite expensive. We ended up ordering one from Groupon which was a bit of a risk and the plant looks a tad weird, but we have grown to love it!

We also love cactus’s and seem to have one in every room! A cactus also looks fab in the bathroom.

We have also purchased quite a few artificial plants from Homesense that are perfect for fitting around the flat! The one below sits on the kitchen windowsill.

Our yucca plant is the statement plant for the living room and usually goes where the Christmas tree currently is. We wanted a tall but not too wide plant for the corner of the room and this yucca from B&Q is perfect.

Lastly a great gift for someone is to buy them a money plant (its unlucky or something to buy your own, so wait to be gifted!). We love our money plant and it sits on the window sill in the study.

Tripod/ Floor Lamps

A tripod lamp is basically a lamp with 3 feet! These are great for the corner of the room, Rach’s is from Dunelm.

Annie’s boyfriend also has a lamp in his living room that sits perfectly behind the arm chair in the living room. This floor lamp is from B&Q and was great value only costing £45! We have noticed that floor lamps can be quite pricey!

We think tripod/floor lamps really finish a room off and make it super cosy when you don’t want to switch on the main light.

Throws

We love a throw and in our eyes it always makes everything look 10 times better… When in doubt add a throw 😂!

Annie’s boyfriend has a grey one on his mustard arm chair and also has a mustard and grey check on on his sofa! Everyone needs a throw on their bed as well so of course he has one… we opted for a red and white checked on (it looks super festive as well).

Candles/Diffusers

We have been loving candles & diffusers as well, not only do they look good they also leave the flat smelling delightful! Annie picked up a couple from H&M home and they smell so great and they seem to burn for quite some time! On a separate note if you have never been in H&M home you need to go, but you be prepared you probably won’t leave empty handed!

This Bergamot candle is from H&M and we just had to buy it as soon as we smelt it (Bergamot is my favourite scent ever)! Sadly we cannot find it on the website but it was purchased from the store on Regents Street.

The sunflower candle is also from H&M home and it sits in the hallway (it has not been burnt yet but we cannot wait to burn it as it just smells beaut)!

We also love a diffuser in the bathroom and Dunelm have the best range ever! We spent ages in there smelling them all. We ended up getting 2, one for each bathroom (Egyptian cotton & nordic shores) and then bought a bottle to re-fill them – eco friendly and all that!!

We are always adding bits and bobs to the flats as we go along (there is always something to buy)! But let us know what you have loved doing to your new house etc or what you cannot live without!
