We love living in London but sometimes really do take it for granted. It’s nice one in a while to be a tourist in our own city and this can sometimes be quite expensive so we have pulled together all the fun free things you can do in London.

Natural History & Science Museum- these are located in potentially one of our favourite parts of London, South Kensington which is very close to Chelsea. The beautiful mansion houses and streets are very photogenic and there are lots of cafes on our list to try in this area too (you can read all about Muriel’s which is very close by here) This area also hosts 2 free museums which are fab for kids and adults too. There is so much to see at these museums and you could easily spend a day here. They often have pretty cool exhibitions on too, but you have to pay for these. During the summer they also host late events which are free and very popular with young professionals so keep your eyes peeled for these.
CLOSEST STATION: West Kensington

V&A- opposite the natural history and science museum is the Victoria and Albert museum which is a fashion museum. If you are into your fashion this is a great place for you too. They also do some amazing exhibitions which are well worth checking out.
CLOSEST STATION: West Kensington

Buckingham palace- you cannot come to London and not stand outside the queens house! If he flag is flying the Royal Standard (rather than the Union Jack) Then it means she is in! At 10.45 The changing of the guard happens daily and it’s worth being around to see that, it lasts about 45 mins.
CLOSEST STATION: Green Park

Westminster and Big Ben- we had to add this to our list as its iconic but sadly is in scaffolding until ? So although it’s pretty iconic you won’t get that typical London shot, but still worth joining the hundreds of tourists who stand outside it daily.
CLOSEST STATION: Westminster or Waterloo

Hyde park- we love this park and especially in summer when the weather is hot. There is a massive lake in the middle which is lovely to walk around. You can often see the queens horses going for a canter along the edge of the park too.
CLOSEST STATION: Hype Park Corner or Knightsbridge

The London marathon- this is a great free event to attend that happens yearly at the end of April. Join the crowds and cheer on the runners and soak up the atmosphere. Make sure you download the route map and pick where you want to stand to get the best view. There are also many other races in London that you may want to watch such as the Royal Parks Half Marathon and the London Landmarks Half Marathon.

Harrods- this is the most visited tourist destination in London! We advise you go at nighttime to see the whole building lit up and of course see Harrods sign. Take a wander inside and wish you were rich and visit the Egyptian staircases. It’s all very grand and beautiful.
CLOSEST STATION: Knightsbridge

Camden market and lock- we love this place although it can get very busy. Wander around the market stalks and enjoy the yummy smells of all the street food. Camden is very unique and a cool place to visit and the lock is stunning too.
CLOSEST STATION: Chalk Farm

Tate modern- if you’re into modern art go here to look around but if you’re not into modern art we strongly recommend you go here too. There are often exhibitions on the ground floor which are cool but our favourite is the free amazing view of London. If you go to the cafe on floor 4 You get amazing views of St. Paul’s or head to the top floor (10) for panoramic views of our beautiful city. Who says you need to pay lots of money for a gorgeous view, head to the Tate for free.
CLOSEST STATION: Waterloo, Embankment or Blackfriars

Primrose Hill- can you tell we love seeing epic views of London?! Well now you can! Head to Primrose Hill for a completely different view of London, we could spend hours here, and on a sunny day why not bring a picnic. We often will get the tube to Baker Street and walk to Primrose Hill through Regents Park, it’s a lovely walk so if you fancy that we highly recommend it.
CLOSEST STATIONS: Baker Street, Regents Park

We love London and think its amazing there is so much free activities to do.
