When we don’t get enough sleep our health 100% suffers, we almost always end up run down and catch a cold! Now with Christmas fast approaching (eek) we certainly do not want to be getting poorly. Although Christmas is a super fun and happy time of year it can also be quite stressful which can also result in our sleep to suffer.
December is a time when we are always so so so busy our social calendars go crazy and there are never enough hours in the day to fit everything in. We strongly agree that if you are prepared you are more likely to have a stress-free Christmas and thought we would share a couple of tips with you!
Sleep
If you are used to have at least 8 hours sleep a night and then suddenly you only get 6 hours sleep each night your body and mind are going to feel the effects, so make sure you can catch up were possible as getting enough sleep is the best selfcare. Have an early night when you can and take some time out and enjoy an evening by yourself either watching the tv, reading a book or maybe having a bath!
If you have a lot on your mind before going to bed we always find that writing everything down really help to offload the stress, going to bed with 101 things on your mind is never going to end in a good nights sleep!
Presents
Buying presents can also be super stressful, we are always worried that our family and friends are not going to like our presents, or we might not have enough money (paying rent doesn’t stop over Christmas).
The thing is Christmas isn’t just about presents it is about spending time with the people you love. Why not suggest secret Santa with your friends and family so it reduces the number of presents you need to buy!
Cooking Christmas Dinner
Is the cooking preparation already starting to stress you out? We feel you there is always so much to do and if you are like us you don’t want to spend the entire day in the kitchen!
Why not prepare as many vegetables as you can the night before? Peel the carrots, cut the cabbage… anything that will help you out the next day!

We also came across some interesting stats we wanted to share with you
