Pastaio has two restaurants in London which are located in Westfield and Soho. We opted to visit the Soho branch which is located on Ganton Street in the Carnaby area. If you haven’t visited Soho in a while then we recommend that you do, lots of the roads have been closed and instead restaurants have been able to set up outside seating areas!

When we arrived at Pastaio we asked the waiter if we could sit outside as it was super sunny outside and probably one of the last chances we would get to sit outside this year. If you didn’t want to sit outside though there was plenty of seating inside!

We started our meal with an Aperol Spritz, which was of course delicious! There was a couple of cocktails to choose from and the prosecco slushy also caught our eye, but we stuck to what we knew as we hadn’t had an Aperol since our holiday.

To start we got three antipasti to share (it was hard to choose which ones to go for as they all looked amazing). We ordered the rosemary focaccia, Burrata and prosciutto di parma with sweet Italian melon. These were the perfect sharing starters and in fact all the Antipasti’s would be perfect for sharing if there is a bigger group of you, we would recommend getting one of each!

For mains there was so many delicious options on the menu we struggled to pick what we wanted! As we do with everything we decide to share two dishes one meat based dish and the other veggie!

The one dish we did know we wanted to try though was the 8-hour beef & porcini bolognese tagliatelle! We always opt for this dish when it’s on the menu because it’s always so flavoursome and delicious and this dish certainly didn’t disappoint!

The next dish we went for was something slightly different to what we would usually order it was a Ligurian basil pesto, green beans, potato & stracci dish and oh my gosh we loved it! We always recommend going for something on the menu that you don’t really know what it is going to be like as it makes you try new flavours!

For dessert of course we had to try the tiramisu (as we always do at an Italian) and the salted caramel ice cream! They were both so delicious and I think the salted caramel ice cream was one of the best we have ever tried!

We had the loveliest time at Pastaio at we could not recommend it enough! We have also just spotted on Instagram that the Westfield location are offering unlimited pasta and an aperol spritz for £25 every Thursday!

Thanks so much for having us Pastaio and kindly gifting us this meal!
