I just happened to walk past The Good Life Eatery near Portobello Market one Saturday afternoon. I have wanted to visit for a while, so it was the perfect place to choose for a bite to eat! The Good Life Eatery strive to encourage everyone to eat better, healthier and happier. They offer an array of dishes on their all-day menu from cold pressed juices & smoothies to their delicious goodness bowls, wraps and sandwiches. They do not sell boring food and they will not add anything on the menu unless it looks and tastes incredible.

The Good Life Eatery have six locations in London; SoulCycle Soho, Notting Hill, St Johns Wood, Belgravia, Marylebone and Chelsea! We visited the store in Notting Hill at around 2:30PM and it as busy but luckily there was a table free for us to sit at.

You choose your food and order at the till its super easy! There was literally so much on the menu we took ages to decide what we wanted to order. Eventually I (Annie) ordered the Goodness Bowl, which was quinoa falafel, ½ seeded avocado, sweetcorn hummus w/ seeded crackers, candy beetroot & butternut squash, shredded greens & roasted broccoli, lemon tahini dressing.

I have never tried sweetcorn hummus before and I absolutely loved it, I would like to try making this a go at home, although I am sure it wouldn’t taste nearly as good. I also loved the lemon tahini dressing and I was really happy that they left the dressing on the side so you can decide how much you wanted to drizzle over your salad. This bowl was so filling with such an array of flavours, I would highly recommend!

My sister Lizzy ordered the Harvest Hippy Bowl which was lentils, butternut squash, broccoli, candy beetroot, pickled onion, sesame seeds, lemon tahini dressing. You then got the choice of either quinoa or brown rice and she opted for the quinoa. You can also select the protein of your choice which was either chopped chicken or sesame tofu, because she is a pescitarain she opted for the tofu. My sister really enjoyed this bowl and said it was incredibly filling, she also commented on the lemon tahini dressing being delicious.

My older sister Cat order the Daal-Ywood which was red lentils simmered in cumin & turmeric with spinach, Thai basil and sesame seeds. Like the hippy bowl you could choose between quinoa/ rice and jerk chicken or roasted sweet potato, Cat opted for the quinoa and sweet potato. I tried some of her dish and it as really delicious and full of flavour.

The price points on our dishes ranged from £10.50 to £12.95, which is slightly on the pricey side but the quality of the food great! We were full to the brim and felt very content after finishing our meals!
