How to make the most of moving to a new area

I recently moved out of London to a new area I haven’t really explored before. It can be a bit daunting moving to a a new place but I have decided to embrace this change so thought I would share my tips with you!

Enjoy your surroundings

On arriving at a new place go out on a walk, find your bearings and work out where you are. Also to see how far away or close you are to some green space, some woods, a field or canal/river.

Find some food

Food is what makes everyone happy, and of course you gotta eat. Find where you local supermarket is and then go and visit it. Work out if you need to drive or if you can walk.

Also research where you closest HUGE supermarket is, we mean a big Sainsbury’s, Tesco Extra or Asda, these are the cheapest place to go for food. If you are lucky, use google to see if you have an Aldi or a Lidl nearby!

Then so some research for your closest convenience store/food shop that is open on a Sunday, because you are always going to have that made dash on a Sunday to find food you forgot, or you just have that Sunday evening craving for chocolate or icecream!!

Find a hobby

Maybe you have a hobby already and so you can join a club. I love running so have decided to join the local running club. However there are lots of clubs you could join, how about a football team, netball team. Or maybe a book club, painting club or photography group?

By joining a club you will meet people from the local area and hopefully make some friends.

Drink coffee/eat cake

Of course you have to find your local coffee shop, somewhere cute you could take your visitors, or maybe for a Saturday morning coffee or brunch. Cafe’s are also another great place to meet other people.

Join the gym

You may already have a gym membership so you may be able to transfer your membership to the local branch in your area. Or you might want to try out a new gym altogether.

Beauty

You will need to find somewhere else to go to get your hair cut/coloured and for any other beauty treatments you like, eyebrows, nails etc!

I have yet to find where to go, but think I will use the Treatwell App to find salons near me!

Of course, when moving to a new area why not use Fantastic Services to help. They can help with the removal process, or clean your property for you.

The Fantastic Services team are great and there are lots of services to choose from, you can customise your service, choose a time that suits you and only get charged on completion of the service! Check them out!!
