Brasserie Blanc Threadneedle Street

We love French food and having recently returned from Toulouse we were excited to be able to eat more delicious French food.

We visited Brasserie Blanc Threadneedle Street on a sunny Friday evening. Upon arrival we spotted that there was outside seating area so obviously we asked if it would be okay if we sat outside.

To start we ordered a bottle of our favourite white wine which is a Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough New Zealand (definitely not French woops). The wine was perfectly chilled and tasted very delicious, we ordered some olives to accompany our wine.

To start Annie went for the Moroccan Mezze Platter which was; harissa aubergine, globe artichoke, falafel with coconut cashew cream, houmous selection, pomegranate seeds, cherry tomato salad & flatbread. Unfortunately, they had ran out of houmous but that didn’t stop me ordering this starter as I was in the mood for a mezze.

The Moroccan Mezze was so delicious, and I can imagine it would have been even more delicious had they of had houmous, you can also order the mezze platter as a main dish!

Rach went for the Potted Cornish Crab with Avocado which was served with prawn butter & sourdough toast. The potted crab was full of so much flavour and we loved how they had layered the dish with Avocado at the bottom and then the crab was sat on top. It is always good when a dish is served with sour dough bread as well- our favourite!

For Mains Annie ordered the Grilled Salmon Fillet with Tomato Hollandaise & Choron Sauce. The tomato hollandaise sauce was incredible I finished the entire pot! It complemented the salmon perfectly and made the dish more exciting.

Instead of having the fries I asked for the Thai Green Lead Salad with Green papaya, cashews & citrus dressing. This side dish was so flavoursome, and I would recommend this swap if you are not feeling fries or a mixed leaf salad.

Rach ordered the Fillet Steak (of course one of us had to order steak!) It was served with a cooked tomato and then I also ordered a side of fries as the fillet steak is not served with a side dish.

I asked for the steak to be cooked medium-rare and it was cooked just how I like it! It was very tender and the juices were so flavoursome, if you are a steak lover visiting Brasserie Blanc then I would highly recommend ordering the fillet steak.

Sticky toffee pudding was on the dessert menu so OBVIOUSLY we had to order it! It was served with a dark chocolate, almond & citrus crisp (which we ordered on the side as Rach doesn’t like nuts) Normandy crème fraîche & crunchy nougatine. Oh my goodness me the sticky toffee pudding was incredible it was super fluffy and served with a generous amount of sauce (the best bit of course), this sticky toffee pudding definitely gets a thumbs up from us!

We also tried the limited edition strawberry smash dessert. It was a French twist on the traditional strawberries and cream combination Vacherin with layers of meringue, ice cream, chantilly cream, marshmallow and strawberry. It was super delicious and not too heavy which was very welcoming after the feast we had just eaten! If it is still on the menu when you visit it is definitely worth a try!

Thank you so much for having us Brasserie Blanc and for gifting us the most delicious meal! The staff at Brasserie Blanc Threadneedle Street were absolutely incredible especially our waitress who is also the assistant manager Giulia, she was very attentive and made us feel so welcome! We will definitely be visiting again soon!
