Rossopomodoro Restaurant Review

There are seven Rossopomodoro’s in London and on a beautiful sunny evening we visited the Covent Garden Branch.

Rossopomodoro’s food is a celebration of their local culture and history of southern Italy and they are proud to serve some of the finest ingredients the region has to offer.

Upon arrival we were shown to our table which was at the back of the restaurant overlooking the kitchen. We loved how bright and airy the restaurant was and of course we spotted the marble tables straight away.

We both ordered a drink, Annie went for a hendricks gin & tonic and rach opted for an Aperol Spritz! Both were very refreshing especially as it was lovely and warm outside.

We ordered some olive e Lupini to enjoy with our drinks which were a mixture of green and black olives and also yellow salted Neapolitan lupini beans which were very tasty.

To start we ordered a Panzarotto which was a homemade potato croquette with smoked provola mozzarella and pecorino shavings and we also chose the spicy Arrabbiata sauce as the waiter recommended it. We absolutely loved this dish and we wanted to eat it all over again, it was simply delicious and the perfect starter.

We also ordered the Montanare which was fried pizza dough balls topped with Italian plum tomato sauce, fresh homemade Genovese basil pesto and Parmesan cheese. The second dough ball was homemade Sicilian pistachio pesto with lemon zest and creamy ricotta cheese, this one was definitely our favourite and the lemon and ricotta flavour almost made us feel like we were eating a lemon dessert!

For main we opted for the Verace DOP pizza and of course we added the Palma ham (Its our fave topping on a pizza) It was really delicious but if we are being 100% honest it was a little watery and when we picked the pizza up all of the toppings fell off. It was still really delicious though and full of flavour!

We also ordered the Trofie Ricotta e Pesto pasta dish as we had not had pesto in a while! We loved the giant shavings of parmesan and also the fresh creamy ricotta cheese it complimented the pesto perfectly!

For dessert we ordered the tiramisu a dish that we always pick when in an Italian we also ordered the lemon sorbet which was super refreshing and light, which was great as we were so full!

If you are looking for a quick, convenient and delicious Italian meal whilst you are in London then you should definitely stop by Rossopomodoro!

Our meal was gifted, thanks so much for having us!
