Supporting Small Coffee Brands

We both love coffee and love trying out new coffee. We have recently been sent some delicious coffee from some small businesses and have also treated ourselves to some special coffee too. So we thought it would make the perfect blog post for any coffee lovers out there as well.

Coffee also makes the perfect gift for any coffee lover, in fact Rach got Annie some as part of her Christmas present this year, so why not gift someone this Christmas yourself!

Redemption Roasters

These guys are the first ever prison based roasters. Their Roastery is HMP The Mount which is very close to us in Bovingdon. Not only do they have the cutest coffee shops in London, you can also purchase their coffee.

We cannot wait to head back to London and visit one of their coffee shops in: Bloomsbury, Kings Cross, Liverpool Street, Broadgate Circle or Barbican.

Rach got Annie some for Christmas last year and she absolutely loved it! It was super strong and full of flavour, we were so sad when we finished it!

Lost Sheep Coffee

We LOVE the bright yellow packaging of Lost Sheep Coffee, especially as yellow is on of our favourite colours!

Lost Sheep are fairly traded and have hand roasted speciality coffee! It is wrapped in environmentally friendly packaging which is amazing! You can purchase the coffee on a one off basis or you can also sign up for a subscription!

They have 10 roasts to choose from on the website and also a decaf roast! We have tried the Brazil and Columbia espresso roasts. The Brazil roast also has hints of sweet toffee and classic milk chocolate when you drink it where as the Columbia roast has caramel flavours, with subtle notes of brown sugar and a tiny hint of citrus.

Altitude Coffee

Altitude Coffee has been started by Joe who is a pilot. They have lots of different types to choose from, we went for their best sellers The Pioneer and The Captains Roast & also tried the Columbian.

The packaging is gorgeous and smelt amazing! We loved the coffee, it was very smooth and our favourite was The Captains Roast.

Exhale

The Exhale team like to describe themselves as ‘a team of dreamers, united on a mission to positively change the coffee world, forever’ which we absolutely love! Exhale is Known as ‘healthy coffee’, this is The UK’s first & only speciality coffee, crafted for health.

You can buy bags of coffee, or subscribe to their coffee subscription club. If you sign up to this, your coffee is roasted on Mondays & posted on Tuesday and you benefit from free delivery! They also have a thermo flask as well that you can purchase and enjoy your coffee in!

Orangutan Coffee

The Orang Utan Coffee Project helps coffee farmers operate in a sustainable and successful way without clearing the rainforest. They want to sell enough Orang Utan Coffee to provide effective and long-lasting support for the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme (SOCP) as well as for the coffee smallholders. We visited Sumatra and saw the most beautiful orangutang’s so we are happy to be buying coffee that supports them!

Norlo

Norlo Coffee Is organic certified speciality coffee delivered direct to your door! Being organic certified & speciality-grade means their coffee joins a rare group of amazing coffee suppliers that make up just less than 1% of all coffee served worldwide- how crazy is that!

Norlo believe that coffee should be served in it’s purest form, when trying the coffee we both commented how smooth the coffee was and it was so full of flavour. Norlo sent us each a tub of their caffeinated ground coffee which was so delicious. We have noticed on the website they also sell lightly caffeinated coffee which would be perfect when you want a pick me up in the afternoon but don’t want that full caffeine hit! The product is packaged beautifully and would make the perfect gift!

They also sell Nespresso coffee pods and a subscription pack which is 2 x 200g bags for £15- absolute bargain!

Coffee Flamingo

Coffee Flamingo was created in 2020, with a mission to create great tasting coffee, ethical coffee in it’s simplest form. Dan and James the owners have hand selected a collection of their favourite coffee beans making sure they give there customers a range of options!

They kindly sent us a couple of bags of their coffee to try; Espresso house blend, Peru & Columbia. We fell in love with the packaging straight away and both agreed it would make such a lovely gift for any coffee lover! All three coffee’s were absolutely delicious and had a strong taste (just the way we like our coffee)! We cannot recommend this coffee enough!

Cafe Pod

We tried the daily grind blend and oh wow its incredible, and most certainly up there with one of our favourites we ended up buying more! However, why get the variety pack and then you can pick your favourite (and make sure you let us know!)

Rave

This coffee makes a good gift & we both actually bought these for our boyfriends for their birthdays this year. The taster pack/bundle is ideal because you get a variety, you can pick: whole bean, filter, espresso & filter. We liked the Italian Job blend the best but the Signature Blend was good too!

Batch Coffee

Batch coffee, is a coffee subscription which could make a great long lasting Christmas present for someone. We absolutely ADORE their packaging, its SO cute!

Each subscription box you get 2 new coffees to try so it will be a nice surprise each month.
