Homemade Fruit & Nut Granola

Granola is one of those foods that you can just eat and eat and before you know it you have eaten half the bag! We also noticed that shop bought granola isn’t necessarily that good for you and is often full of so much sugar it’s like eating a dessert.

So I wanted to make my own granola with ingredients that I always have in my cupboard! There isn’t really a full recipe to follow here as I just literally shove everything in the bowl, mix it up and then put it in the oven!

Ingredients

  • Oats
  • Hazelnuts
  • Cashews
  • Walnuts
  • Dried Cranberries
  • Agave Syrup
  • Coconut Oil

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180oc
  2. In a large mixing bowl add the oats, nuts, dried cranberries and mix until well combined.
  3. In a saucepan melt the coconut oil
  4. Add the melted coconut oil and agave syrup to the mixing bowl and stir until the coconut and agave syrup covers all the dry ingredients.
  5. Place the granola mixture onto the baking tray and place in the oven for 20 minutes, stir the granola and then put it back in the oven for a further 15 mins.
  6. Your granola should be nice and crunchy after 35 minutes but if it isn’t then give it a little bit longer!
  7. Allow it to cool and then enjoy!
