Šibenik is a city on the Adriatic coast of Croatia and if you are visiting the Dalmatia region then you have to visit Šibenik.
We stayed in Šibenik for three nights and this was definitely enough time to explore the city! It is a great city with lots to do and we love the fact you can walk just 15 minutes down the port and you are at the beach!
Read below the things we got up to and what we would recommend doing when visiting Šibenik!
- Head to SHE Bistro for drinks on the rooftop! It opens in the evening at 7pm and you get a beautiful view especially when the sun is setting. We also visited SHE Bistro for lunch and it was tasty but incredible healthy and all vegan!
- If you are staying in an air bnb and fancy a pool day head to the most beautiful Hostel called Hostel Scala where you can spend the day at the pool if you buy some drinks! We stayed here all afternoon until the pool shut at 7pm sipping on aperols!
- Head to Bazza Bistro for a HUGE iced coffee! It was delicious and the place next door (didn’t get the name) serves a great breakfast and offer a special deal!
- We headed on a 10 mile walk one day (we didn’t actually expect it to be that long) and if we could go back we probably would have got a taxi home from one of the remote beaches instead of walking back on the road! We followed the Saint Nicholas Fortress walk which was really lovely! (You cannot gets to the Nicholas Fortress by foot you have to get a boat, but from this walk you get a birds eye view of it)! It is a proper path and you don’t need a map you just follow the path! See the route we followed below- the actual path starts at around the 4 mile mark!
- There was lots of secluded beaches along this walk which were so beautiful! If you have a car we would recommend driving to this area as it gets you away from the crowds and the sea is so blue!
- We also spent a couple of morning at Banj Beach! You can walk along the water front from Šibenik old town to Banj Beach! There is a beach bar which you can grab food and drink at! But if you want to take a pack lunch then you will also find a convenience shop on the way to the beach!
- If this is the only place you are visiting then we would recommend having a look at some of the day trips they have on offer! Krka national park isn’t far away and you can swim in the lakes!
- Hire a car/moped and go to Trogir it’s a 53 minute journey but looks like a super cute town to visit!
Šibenik is truly stunning and to be honest we didn’t actually do an awful lot whilst we were there! We had just been on several adventures before arriving so we really enjoyed the down time chilling by the pool/beach reading our books!
