The Marlborough Arms is located in Woodstock a quaint little village near Oxfordshire. The Marlborough Arms is the perfect hotel if you fancy a break from city life. We have visited Woodstock a couple of times now and love it more and more every time.

There are two train stations located nearby (Hanborough & Combe) so it is super easy to get to if you are commuting from London. If like us you decide to drive The Marlborough Arms has a private car park.

The Marlborough Arms is a beautiful 15th century Coaching Inn that has been beautifully refurbished. It has 16 luxury rooms, we stayed in room number 15 which was very elegantly decorated and very homely.

Our room was a twin room and it was very spacious, we had tonnes of room and it didn’t feel cramped at all. There was a coffee machine with a large selection of coffees to choose from, a kettle and also some shortbread in case you get peckish.

We slept amazingly, the room was pitch black, which we love and didn’t wake up once during the night. The beds were also ridiculously comfy so we grabbed an early night to make the most of our beautiful room and watched Love Island!

The bathroom was beautifully decorated and once again huge! It has an amazing shower which we of course took advantage off, it’s so nice having the time to enjoy a shower!

They had Spa Works shampoo and body wash, so you don’t need to pack your own during your visit which is great!

Check in is a 4pm but we called them up before our visit and they were more than happy for us to check in at 2pmand we also saw a couple of others arrive early as well. The receptionist was extremely friendly when we arrived and she made us feel very welcomed.

The reception area is super cosy, we could have spent our entire afternoon there. There was a huge fire crackling away which was very inviting on such a cold winters day.

There was also a bar, so we enjoyed a gin & tonic in front of the fire before heading out to dinner. It was the perfect way to start our evening in Woodstock.

Unfortunately, The Marlborough Arms does not have a restaurant on site, but you wont be stuck as there as so many in Woodstock and they also provide you with recommendations where you can enjoy 10% off your meal.

Breakfast is served from 7:30am-9:30am, they may ask you at busy times roughly what time you plan on heading down so they can make sure a table is set for you.

We headed down to breakfast at 8:30am and had a table ready for us! We were served coffee and a mixture of toast which we enjoyed with some of their homemade marmalade (highly recommend).

They had a full continental breakfast laid out which we made sure we tucked into! We had a couple of pan au chocolat and also spotted the waffles which you could enjoy with maple syrup!

For the main course we opted for the full fry and up we were so impressed! It was absolutely HUGE we didn’t manage to finish it all! If you are a fry up lover then this is 100% the breakfast dish for you!

The fry up had lots of bacon, a sausage, hashbrown, egg of your choice, tomato, mushroom & baked beans! It was all of an amazing quality and cooked to perfection. They even gave us extra beans as we mentioned how much we loved them!

There was lots of other choices on the menu as well including eggs and soldiers, avocado on toast and also a selection of pancakes (we struggled to pick what we wanted).

After breakfast we headed outside to the court yard for a couple of photo shoots (of course) and we both agreed that the courtyard must be so pretty in the summer when the sun is shining!

We really did have such a wonderful stay at The Marlborough Arms and we honestly could not recommend this coaching inn enough to you! The staff was super polite and helpful and really did make our stay wonderful.
