We stumbled across a super cute courtyard when wandering Berlin which had lovely shops including a made.com showroom but also this beautiful Italian restaurant, Piccolo Giardino.
At Christmas time the outside seating aroud is so festive, you can sit on sleighs and wrap up in blankets. However you can also sit inside if you wish and we sat upstairs and enjoyed a delicious italian spread.
We started with 2 boards, these are quite small but actually perfect starter size. We went for the cheese one and the saucisson one. Both came with sourdough baguette and the cheese board was served with honey!
If you fancy a couple of starters to share then these would be perfect! We love sharing and it means you get to try more of them menu!
We also ordered a bottle of Gran Passione which was so delicious and really smooth (although we did have to place it by the radiator as it was served freezing cold).
For main Rach ordered the Pasta Pomodoro which is exactly what it sounds like! Pasta in a tomato sauce, it was tasty but wasn’t out of this world as you could easily make it yourself! We often like to have dishes that we wouldn’t often make ourselves! What we will say though is this dish is massive, so if you are hungry then maybe opt for the Pasta Pomodoro!
Annie ordered the Pecorino Gnocchi and Chesnuts which was absolutely delicious! It looked really small when it was served but honestly it was so filling that I could not have eaten anymore. It was so flavoursome and not something I would usually order but I actually loved it!
We didn’t have any dessert as we were too full but we did sit at the table for a good hour or so after we had our food! It was so nice to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in such a picturesque setting.
If you are in Berlin and fancy some Italian food in a central location then this is definitely your place! Or if you just fancy a drink outside then ticks all the boxes!
