Brunch Review: Parc Franglaises

We were lucky enough to be invited to Parc Franglaises one Sunday lunchtime. We had never heard of it before but we love French food and fancied a trip out of the big city so immediately accepted the invitation.

We did of course check our the Parc Franglaises Instagram and instantly fell in love with  the food they were posting. As always we also checked out Trip Advisor which got us even more excited about trying their food as all the reviews were raving about the delicatessen.

We jumped on the train at Brixton and 15 minutes later we had arrived, it’s crazy how far you can get in such a short space of time. Parc Franglaises was a 15 minute walk from the station so not far at all.

When we arrived we were greated by the two owners who told us take a seat. The cafe was buzzing full of people and if we had arrived 10 minutes later we would have struggled to get a seat which is always a good sign.

The deli was incredibly charming and we could tell it was a place the locals loved to visit everyone seemed to know of each other. The decor was enchanting and warm which we loved and it is a place we could spend hours at working away.

The menu was amazing there was so much to choose from that we both struggled to decide what to order. One of the things we loved about the deli was the fact you could see all the sandwich fillers, cold meats, salads and cheeses in the counters they all looked so fresh and delicious that is made it even harder to make a decision.

Rach went for a sausage, bacon and cheese sourdough baugette a combination she had not tried before but absolutely loved. Rach also opted for a side of potato salad an absolute favourite of hers so that went down an absolute treat. Annie went for a classic tuna and sweetcorn melt on a sourdough baguette with a side of Greek salad which were both so tasty and flavoursome.

We both agreed that the deli were incredibly generous with their portion sizes. Sometimes you can order a baguette and after a couple of bites the filling has gone but that is not the case at Parc Franglasis.

For dessert (yes of course we managed to squeeze in dessert) we had a slice of gluten free lemon cake which was one of the best gluten free cakes we have ever tried infact if they hadn’t of said we wouldnt have even known it was gluten free. We enjoyed our slice of cake over a Mocha and Hot chocoalte.

If you ever fancy a trip out of London then you should definitely visit Parc Franglaises we have our fingers crossed that they open another store slightly more central so we can visit all the time!

Brunch Review Red Roaster

Red Roaster is based in Brighton and we actually came across it after watching Zoella (well duh!). Zoe and Alfie regularly talk about the Red Roaster in their vlogs and we have also seen some photos feature one their Instagram and we can totally see why they rave about it so much!

A short walk from the station but very close to the seafront, you can eat inside or outside. There is seating our the front and in the small garden out the back too.
Lets start with the interior design, this place is incredible. The marble tables are a bloggers dream as they are so Instagramable, you can sit at tables or on high stalls over looking over the kitchen. There are lots of plants everywhere so it kinda feels like a greenhouse! There is also a cool slogan on the wall 🙂

Now lets talk about the toilets (sorry!), they are so pretty with white and black tiles covering the walls. We love to check out the toilets wherever we go as we really believe it says a lot about a cafe or restaurant. It’s safe to say these did not disappoint especially as they had Cowshed soap and hand cream on offer! When a place has nice toilet’s with long mirrors (perfect for a boomerang!) you know you will be making a return.

Anyway, now for the main event, we both ordered iced coffees to drink, opting for the iced coffee with maple syrup for Rachel and iced cinnamon latte for Annie.

For main, we of course went for the same thing as per usual. We chose waffles topped with semi-dried tomatoes, smoked salmon, calamari and cream cheese. We got three waffles each and it was incredible!

There were so many cool things on the menu to choose from and the menu was very alternative with unique twists on traditional brunch dishes. We would definitely return here on our bi-yearly trip to Brighton. It appears their menu is seasonal, so on our next trip there will be new different dishes to choose!
