Why we have chosen to go to Spain this summer

We have started thinking about summer already and if you are anything like us you will have started thinking too! Spain is one of our favourite destinations and that is why we have chosen to visit twice this summer! There is so much to see and do that it leaves you spoilt for choice.

IT’S CLOSE
A flight from London to Barcelona or malaga is only a two hours away, so you don’t have to worry about being bored and restless on a long haul flight for a whole day. It’s simply like watching a movie – and then you’re there. This is also why things are so cheap, because it’s not far to get to. Just think in the time it takes to drive to the seaside in the UK you could be in Barcelona!

THERE IS SUN
Let’s face it, isn’t this the whole point of a holiday? The sun! Leaving the miserable weather of Britain behind and working on a tan and sip on Sangria all day long. Spain is one of Europe’s sunniest countries as it’s on the border of the Mediterranean – you can expect more than 300 days of sunshine every single year far into the winter season.

IT’S CHEAP
Spain is by far one of the best value destinations when looking in Europe. So when thinking about spending money as well as having to pay for accommodation, you could actually be saving a lot more than if you were looking to go somewhere else. You can look at Spain Villa Rentals on Interhome.co.uk for some ideas on the cost as well as the ratings. Essentially you can book somewhere of luxury for an affordable price without having to worry about it breaking the bank.

THE BEACHES
Spain has over five thousand miles of coastline, and that means that it has thousands of magical beaches that vary from golden sands and sapphire seas, to hidden rocky coves that allow you to explore the mystical marine life. Spain has been said to have the best beaches on the whole planet, so you won’t be disappointed.

CYCLING ROUTES
A place in Spain called Majorca (we visited last summer) has one of the best routes for cyclists to ride thanks to terrain that suits all kinds of cycling, as well as people’s different abilities and skill sets. Even if you’ve never ridden before, you can hire a bike and set off all around the town – we love cycling and even more so in a hot country!

THE MOUNTAINS
Spain offers you the rare mix of magnificent mountains with hidden beaches, all in the same proximity. You can expect to see lofty limestone peaks and high altitude pastures within a mere thirty minutes from the main beaches. There is so much to see as you drive down the bendy roads through the middle of mountains.

THE DANCING
Nightlife in Spain is an awfully exciting one. You can walk up the strip with the warm evening air brushing against your skin, browsing over all the different bars as well as the music coming out of them. You have a selection of the kind of vibe you would like to have each night. If you feel like having a go at a little flamenco or salsa, go to the local bar and within a matter of minutes, you’ll be pulled up onto the dancefloor!

THE FOOD
Other than the delicious Spanish wine, you can expect salty Parma ham wrapped around beautiful slices of sweet fresh melon that gives you a combination of the best tastes in your mouth. Don’t forget the array of over fourty artisan cheeses that have all been produced within the area, as well as freshly caught seafood every day and of course paella. If you’re a foodie, then you will be in your element in Spain.

THE SURFING
If you like to catch a wave, then surfing is a very popular activity in Spain because there is so much life in the waters. People travel down for that reason alone, because with hidden coves comes various winds, giving the water something to talk about. And this provides you with tremendous waves to fly on.

So what more are you waiting for? Book your holiday in Spain and have one of the best holidays you could ever imagine!
