A long weekend in Dubai

Dubai is the most amazing place we have ever visited, it feels like a dreamland – everything is so well serviced and so clean. However Dubai is also very expensive so we would recommend a long weekend there, 4-5 days will be plenty of time. However if you can afford to go for longer then you will not be bored as there is just SO MUCH to do/the weather is amazing so 2 weeks by a pool or by the beach is a dream come true! With the flight only taking 6 hours it not too bad to get to either.

One thing to point out that everything in Dubai is so spread out, you cannot really walk from place to place, however taxis are ridiculously cheap and one journey can sometimes only cos you £2!

We have done an itinery starting on a Thursday, as Dubai’s weekends are Friday and Saturday so you should definitely try and go for these days.

Day 1 (Thursday):

Zero Gravity Beach Club – this place is insane, you can go and drink and get merry or you can go a chill. We went on a Thursday so the atmosphere was very chilled. If you go on ladies day its a little busier and more lively. You pay entrance but you also get a meal token so its pretty good value.
The food is also amazing, there is lots on the menu and its delicious.
The place itself is gorgeous, you can sit by the infinity pool or on the beach. The pool is a great size and there are lots of bed, if there are lots of you you can get a large circle bed.
Make sure you take epic pictures at the infinity pool and also with the Dubai skyline.

Dinner at Pai Thai is the most amazing experience ever. This restaurant is in the Madinat Jumeirah hotel. If you get your taxi to drop you here you can then walk through the hotel, into their gardens and take a gondola to dinner. The setting is absolutely incredible and feels like a dream world. We would recommend the prawn red curry because it is simply delicious! We were dreaming about the curry for days and we personally believe it was just as good as the real thing in Thailand!
You can then take the gondola/boat back to anywhere you like, however we recommend going to the souks to have a wander around and maybe buy some souvenirs.

Day 2 (Friday):

This is the day for bottomless brunchin’ and it’s amazing! There are so many different ones to choose from, if you want a wild brunch with lots of dancing then go to Candypants at Habtoor Grand. If you want something more classy and where you can dress super super fancy then Saffron is where you want to go, plus this is in Atlantis The Palm. However the list is endless, so have a research and go where you fancy, you will not be disappointed!

Most of the brunch places have an after party, so head to the after party of your brunch or jump in a cab and go to another after party!

Day 3 (Saturday):

Head to the beach at JBR and its a free public beach, plus you can see camels. You can however pay for a bed and a towel to make that sunbathing experience more comfortable. Spend the day here and choose from the many restaurants along the beach front to grab some food. We recommend going to Eggspectation which as the name suggests most the dishes are egg based, so its a breakfast lovers dream!

Head to Karma Kafe for the most amazing dinner in the evening. Ensure you book a table outside so you can have views of the Burj Khalifa and the hourly fountain show that takes place at the The Dubai Fountain whilst tucking into delicious sushi.

This is just a whistle stop tour of Dubai however there are many other things that can be explored:
– A visit to the Dubai Mall is a must for all shopping lovers
– Pier 7 on Dubai Marina has a different restaurant on each of the 7 levels
– Boat Tour from Dubai Marina is the best way to see the skyline from the sea, not to mention seeing Atlantis the Palm and, The Palm and The World
