A Christmas Day in Bath

We went away to Bath recently for a girly trip away and oh my gosh we well and truly fell in love with the city it is beautiful and we cannot wait to return. There are so many things we want to do in Bath that we didn’t get the chance to do, our weekend was cut short due the snow which was such a shame but even more of a reason to go back.

Run- We always go for a run whenever we stay in a new city, we love waking up at the crack of dawn and getting outside when it is still nice and peaceful it’s the best way to explore a city. This time I was sadly alone but I had such a great run and ended up running 5 miles around Bath seeing sites I would never have seen otherwise. No one ever told me how hilly Bath was though my run started with an incline and pretty much went up and up but it’s true what they say what goes up must come down which was a nice way to end the run.

Brunch spots we want to visit- We made brunch at our apartment this time but if we return we would love to go to several brunch spots in Bath as they all look delicious. Brunch spots we have added to our list our; The Ivy Brasserie, Cosy Club & Boston Tea Party. We have been to several Ivy’s before but we just love them so would love to see what this one has to offer. Boston Tea Party is definitely top of the list though it looks super cute and quirky and the menu looks incredible.

Markets- Bath has become really well known for the Christmas markets and this is one of the reasons why we chose to go to Bath. Luckily we went when the markets were still up as they close on the 10th December (although we have heard rumours they may be extending next year). We loved the hustle and bustle as we walked the streets weaving in and out of the Christmas markets.

Coffee- would it really be a girly weekend away if we didn’t do a bit of coffee shop hopping? As a group we all love coffee and it’s the perfect place to sit down and have a catch up we don’t always get to spend good quality time together so it really was lovely. There are so many independent coffee shops around Bath and we really wanted to try some of them out but as you can imagine they were packed and with a group of six it was hard to get a table so this time we opted for Neros, but we have made note of other coffee shops we will have to go back to so stay tuned for another post!

Mulled wine in the Lodge- We love the Lodge we actually visited last year and spent all afternoon inside sipping on mulled wine so we had to go back again this year. It was the perfect place to stop after a long day of walking and shopping. Its super cosy inside (although you may have to wait for a seat they are in demand).

If you have never been to Bath before we would definitely recommend a visit we will be returning sooner rather than later! We had quite a chilled trip but next time we will be doing more activities and we will definitely we visiting the Roman baths!
