Give Your Holiday Some Get Up And Go!

For a lot of people, the perfect holiday is relaxing doing nothing and getting rid of the stress of everyday life! However for us we like to do a bit of both. We sure do love a good chill day by the pool or reading on a sofa but we also love to things and start to go stir crazy otherwise! We love that a holiday is the chance to explore somewhere new and experience things we wouldn’t do on a daily basis and it is of course a chance to take some epic pictures too!

Even if you’re the kind of person who normally spends their holidays on a sun lounger doing nothing, after a while that can lose its charm. With that in mind, here are some things that you can do to give your next vacation a little get up and go!

If you want something a little bit different for your next holiday, why not banish things like resorts and hotels altogether and get off the grid for a little while. This can be a wonderful way to escape from all of the constant noise that has become a part of all of our everyday lives. Leave your phone, tablet, and laptop behind and just get out and enjoy nature for a while. Sure, it might not be for everyone, but there really is nothing like getting out into the wilderness and escaping from every day life for a little while.

One of the most common reasons that a lot of people end up getting bored with their holidays is that they go to the same places over and over, year after year. So why not break that pattern and find somewhere a little bit different instead? Maybe try somewhere that you’ve always been curious about but never got round to visiting, or maybe you could just head to the airport and book a flight to the first destination you see (this is on our bucket list). Sure, you could end up somewhere that you would never normally choose, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing! It just helps you get out of your comfort zone and experience some new things!

If you want to find the perfect balance between pure excitement and getting to put your feet up and relax, hitting the slopes might well be your idea of heaven. Andorra ski holidays let you spend your days gliding down the sides of mountains and in the afternoons and evenings, you can just put your feet up at the lodge with a blanket and a hot drink which sounds like our idea of heaven.

Now, this isn’t to say that a super active, adrenaline-fueled holiday is somehow superior to any other, it’s just a matter of personal preference. But if you’re starting to feel as though your vacations are getting a little bit stale, then why not take a chance on something a little more exciting next time?

Four Ways To Choose The Perfect Weekend Break

If you could read our texts to each other you would see that we both just want to go away again. Christmas is over now, January blues have passed and we have finally got rid of the snow. We are now in that limbo time where we want to fast track to holiday season.

With easter breaks coming up, may bank holiday weekends and, of course, the summer months ahead it’s time to start planning quality time away with our friends, family and loved ones. How do we choose the perfect weekend away? We thought we would share with you some of the ways to choose the perfect weekend away.

Are you going to stay at home or go abroad? One of the first things to consider when it comes to your break away would be to decide whether or not you want to stay at home or go abroad. There are major benefits to both, and there can be a cost and time difference. The things to consider would be how long you plan on going away for. For one night you may want to stay a little close to home, but the Easter bank holiday or another bank holiday weekend may give you those extra days and nights to enjoy somewhere further afield.

What do you want to do with your time there? The next thing to think about would be to think about exactly what you want to do with your time away. You may only have one thing on your mind, some rest and relaxation, and staying closer to home means that hotels like The Wood Norton could be the ideal escape. If you want something more energetic and active, there are some great hotels and resorts that you can consider that offer an array of sporting facilities and walking opportunities to enjoy.

What is your budget? Knowing where you want to go and what you want to do will then help you decipher your budget and how much you want to spend on the break away. You can figure out how much you want to spend and then looking online at various websites will help you determine the best deal. There are some great websites that offer last minute deals, so you may want to think about waiting a while before booking. If you can’t wait, then checking out a few different sites before booking would help you to determine the best deal. If you are traveling abroad, you may want to think about booking a hotel and plane separately so that you get a better deal.

Who are you going to go away with? Finally, you might want to think about who you want to go away with. Is it a couples escape, a weekend with your friends or even just some time away by yourself. There are many different types of breaks away you could do that would suit the company you are going to have, but sometimes just having your closest with you or your family is enough to make the break away magical.

We hope that this helps you book the perfect weekend break away soon, we have started planning ours already so let us know where you are planning on going too!

Don’t Let Your Budget Make You Stay at Home

Living in London is so expensive and so we don’t have as much spare income as we would like. We both just want to travel the world and our bucket list of places to visit is getting longer and longer, however sometimes wonder if we can afford to go on so many holidays, but there are quite a few things we can do to make foreign travel a little bit more affordable.

We thought we would share a couple of tips with you so you too can start looking into some very cheap travel for the summer. Here is what you need to do:

Travel Out Of High Season- Every destination will have its high and low seasons. For instance, South East Asia’s peak tourist season is once the rainy season is over. Summer is the high season for the majority of European countries. During these popular times, the costs of flights and accommodation will greatly increase. So, in order to find the best bargains, it’s worth travelling during the low season. Not only will it be cheaper, but you will also beat the crowds!

We also advise you try to avoid travelling in the school holidays as this is when prices rocket too, make sure you research when the summer holidays begin or when October half term is and you’ll save yourself a lot of money.

Negotiate With Operators- When you are looking in a travel agent’s for their best deals, the prices that they show you won’t always be set in stone. Many people assume that they are, though, and simply pay the price that they are told. But, you might find that it pays off to try and negotiate some further discount. It’s also worth asking if the agent’s run any credit schemes or payment plans to make it easier to pay off their bill. This will probably only be open to those with good credit. If your credit rating needs some improvement, you can always find out how to build credit with a credit card before you go shopping for holidays. Repairing credit can take time, but it’s worth it!

Don’t Fly Direct- If you don’t mind changing flights, it’s worth looking for indirect flights to your destination. Direct flights are often the most expensive options as they are the most convenient and popular. Of course, flying indirectly will mean you are travelling for longer, but the lower price should make it worth it. You might even want to find a flight that has a long layover so that you get the chance to get out of the airport and explore the city you have to change in.

Take A Guidebook- Using tour guides and tour groups to look around a city and discover everything it has to offer can end up very expensive. Instead, it’s worth buying a guidebook and using that as your guide around the destination. Make sure you buy one online or in a bookshop before you leave as they can be very expensive in airports! Top top is go to a charity shop as they always have so many guidebooks for sale.

Take Your Own Food- Cafes and food stands in airports are notorious for being extortionately priced. To make sure you don’t pay over £5 for a measly sandwich, you should pack some food to take with you. Just remember that you won’t be allowed to take liquids through security but you can take an empty bottle. More and more airports have water fountains just as you get through security so we always make sure we take an empty bottle with us.

As you can see then, travel doesn’t always have to be too expensive. There are ways you can afford a holiday this year even on your tight budget!

Ways to keep you entertained on holiday by the pool

We love going on relaxing holidays. The sort of holidays that involve checking in, chucking on a bikini, grabbing a towel, finding your spot by the pool and not moving for a week or two. For the first couple of days we can just sit there ALL day long basking in the sun saying over and over again ‘this is the life’ because lets be honest life cant really get much better. The only thing you really have to worry about for the next week or so is whether or not you have got enough sun cream on because burning is certainly not on our agenda.

But are we the only ones who start to get itchy feet after a few days? We are so used to have hectic schedules where we are running around here there and everywhere that by day three we have some energy to burn. We therefore decided to collect and combine a list of of our favourite things to do to help keep us entertained and gives us another excuse to have an afternoon nap in the sunshine because lets be honest we deserve it!

Lilo or Ring- who ever said lilos and rings were for kids? We always purchase a new lilo or ring when we go on holiday because firstly they make the perfect floating sunbed and secondly they are just fun. This year we both had watermelon rings from Primark, they were such a bargain and only cost us £5, when other stores were selling them for like £30!

Uno- this is one of our favourite games to play around the pool and can keep us entertained for hours. If you haven’t played Uno before then you really need to purchase it for your next holiday trust us your competitive side will definitely come out.

Play bat and ball- at the beginning of the holiday we are always shocking at bat and ball we can barely keep a rally going but with a LOT of practice by the end of the holiday we are pretty happy with our rally!

Magazine- Chilling by the pool reading a magazine catching up on the celebrity gossip or latest fitness craze. This year we opted for women’s and Men’s Health which we really enjoyed reading and also learnt some new work out tips as well. Does anyone else on holiday find themselves reading the same magazine over and over again until you eventually read every single article.

Books- we always manage to read so many books on holiday, its one of the only times in the year that we actually sit down and just read. We absolutely love getting stuck into a book that we cannot put down and always try and stick to reading when we get home but then life gets in the way and its not until the next holiday that we get our nose stuck into a book again!

Play would you rather- if you have never played would you rather its a game where you ask someone a question that starts with ‘would you rather’ and ends with a dilemma for example  ‘would you rather shave your head or not go to the gym for one year’.  The more you play the game the more ridiculous the dilemmas become.

Drink cocktails- need we say more?

7 ways to keep you entertained at the airport

We love the airport. Its one of our favourite parts about going on holiday, so much so that we often give ourselves longer a the airport than we actually need.

No matter how much you love the airport no one wants to see the words ‘delayed’ pop up on the screen because if there is one thing we love more than the airport its sitting by the pool with a cocktail in hand. Instead of being trapped trapped inside an airport when its not your own choice.

We decided to collate a list of ways to keep you entertained when you do see the dreaded word ‘DELAYED’ appear right before your eyes.

1). Treat yourself to a coffee and a bite to eat- usually by the time you are through security you just about have time for a coffee and before you know it your gate it open and you are boarding your flight. If your flight it delayed your airline may even give you free food and drink vouchers.

2). Shop around duty free- buy a magazine or a book, treat yourself to something that you have been eyeing up for a while because airport money isn’t real money its Monopoly money right? At least that’s what we tell ourselves!

3). Pay to be upgraded to business class lounge- we recently did this and oh my gosh it was definitely worth it. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast served with prosecco of course, unlimited wifi and free magazines.

4). People watch- this is literally one of our favourite things to do in life! It is so fascinating watching people and trying to figure out there lives etc just make sure you don’t get caught staring as that could be slightly awkward.

5). Make sure you have downloaded a selection of programmes to watch on your Ipad/tablet/phone- this is a must for any flight, we always make sure we have a selection of programmes downloaded on our Ipads. We always pack our headphone splitter so we can enjoy programmes together as well.

6). Use it as a time to research the country you are visiting- we are usually quite organised with our planning and most of the time we lists of places we want to visit and things we want to see but there is no harm in looking at more hashtags on Instagram and lusting over some delicious brunch spots. If you have purchased and tourist book of the city or country you are visiting then this would be the perfect time to sit down and do some reading.

7). Play card games- who doesn’t go on holiday without a pack of cards in there bag? We love playing cards on holiday and one of our favourite card games of all time is Uno! So remember to pack them in your hand luggage as they are a great way to pass some time.

What do you get up to at the airport? we would love to know! 🙂

Say yes to a girl’s holiday

lilo 1

We have been going away with each other and our other girlfriends since we were 18. Our first girls holiday was in 2010 to Zante and we loved it. Since then we have been to Kavos, Portugal, Ibiza, Barcelona & Majorca. Although our holidays have changed a bit throughout the years we still have the most amazing time and have created unforgettable memories.

We have just got back from a girls holiday, which started in Barcelona on a hen do and ended in Majorca! We had been looking forward to this holiday for such a long time and it definitely did not disappoint. We had so much fun chilling, drinking and eating basically all day everyday.

In June 2016 we went to  Ibiza (which you can read all about here). We booked the holiday super last minute and before we knew it we were boarding the plane and on our way. We were away for five days and we honestly had the most amazing holiday. We fully relaxed and it was just what we needed after months of solid work. we split our days up by doing a mixture of chilling by the pool and taking part in fun activities such as a boat trip to Formentera. We also had to go to a pool party because lets be honest you cant go to Ibiza and not go to at least one pool party.

Holidays can be expensive but they don’t have to be, we paid no more than £200 for our trip to Ibiza which included our flights, hotel, food and drink (we were all inclusive). If you can’t afford £200 then why not look for a holiday in the UK we have had some brilliant weekends away that barely cost anything.

Reasons why a girls holiday could be just what you need

Girly pool chats are the best, we discuss everything and anything! It’s the perfect time to discuss anything that you have been meaning to get off your chest for the past few months. In Ibiza we had pool chats every day with an iced coffee or Mojito in hand and it really helped us make decisions about what we needed to change in our lives on our return.

You will be sure to laugh constantly the sort of laughing that makes you cry and leaves you with tummy cramps.  We always come back from a holiday feeling like we have done a full week of AB workouts.

Days, weeks and months can fly by and you suddenly realise you haven’t seen your friends. Going on holiday always reminds you of how much fun you have when you are together and the importance of keeping the friendships going.

Going on holiday with a partner or your family is AMAZING but they don’t always get it when you need the perfect Instagram shot! That’s when you need your girls there helping you find the dreamiest backdrop.

Lots of dancing takes place on a girl’s holiday which is sure to put you in the best mood ever, need we say anymore?

We cant wait to go away on lots more girly holiday! Have you got any in the pipeline?
