Cocotte Rotisserie is a French farm to the table chicken rotisserie. They serve healthy and delicious homemade dishes from fresh. There are currently two restaurants the first one to open was the Notting Hill branch and recently they have just opened the Hoxton branch.

We visited Cocotte Rotisserie on a sunny Thursday evening. It was the perfect way to spend the evening catching up over delicious food and drink.

When we arrived at 7 o’clock it was very quiet but by the time we had left the place was full and there was such a nice atmosphere. As it was a mild evening we opted to sit outside (we prefer taking photos outside the lightening is always much better)! We sat in the little courtyard which was situated at the front of the restaurant. There was a heater as well which took the edge off and it was perfect.

Hoxton Square is lovely, despite being in quirky Shoreditch you feel like you’re in a different world. The architecture is so different around the square, a mixture of old and new around a leafy square.

The staff were so attentive and very friendly they served us tap water whilst we looked at the menu. We instantly took a fancy to the spritzers which all sounded amazing and cost £9. In the end Annie went for The Cocotte which was Belsazar rose, fresh grapefruit, sparkling wine and slim tonic water it was really refreshing! Rach opted for The Collins which was raspberries, belsazar rose, lime and sparking wine it was so tasty and was served with a strawberry on the side. The drinks came in large wine glasses with ice cubes and were very refreshing! We could have had quite a few!

We were very hungry so went straight for main but for starter there was a cheese plate, veggie basket and chicken wings.

As usual we opted to share so we could try a lot of the menu. We shared a whole chicken which was priced at £23 if you opt for a half chicken it is £13. The chicken at Cocotte is marinated for 24 hours and slow cooked on a low heat to ensure maximum flavour! We also order 2 sauces the first one being truffle mayo and the second was bbq. We were also given a pot of chicken gravy.

For sides we went for the ratatouille, truffle mac and cheese and the Nini’s salad and we decided to add feta to the salad as we both love it and noticed it was an option under the ‘pimp my salad’ section.

The food came nice and quick and we definitely opted for the perfect amount (in fact a whole chicken was probably a little too much)! There was so much chicken and it was so flavoursome, so much so that you didn’t necessarily need the dipping sauces!

The sides were amazing, the salad was incredible, so flavoursome and the dressing complimented the green beans and broccoli perfectly. The mac and cheese was so creamy and moreish. The ratatouille wasn’t with tomato as traditional ratatouille would be but it was still yummy!

For dessert we were torn but in the end went for the lemon tart and what we thought would be ice cream. However the ice cream was actually called mochi on the menu so we assumed it was just ice cream but it wasn’t! Since visiting we have done a bit of research and found out it is in fact a Japanese confection! Anyway this was the best surprise, it’s hard to describe but it was basically ice cream covered in some sort of jelly and they were shaped like balls, as the picture below shows.

You were able to pick 3 flavours for £6 so we decided to go for chocolate, strawberry cheesecake and green tea. These balls literally tasted as they were described and left us wanting more! We will definitely be returning to try the rest of the flavours!

The lemon tart was also a thing of beauty 👌🏼the lemon zesty flavours were delicious and they were incredible generous with the lemon filling and it was baked in a sweet pastry shell.

We loved the interior of the restaurant the white wooden tables made for the perfect Instagram shot YES! Inside the restaurant there was foliage draped down the walls which was super cute and very stylish.

We loved the gold, white and dark green colour theme they have chosen, again it is very stylish and trendy! I mean we are just a sucker for anything gold or marbled!

We loved the wallpaper in the toilets it was flamingo and sooo funky! There is just something about a good and pink bathroom we love!

All in all we had the best evening and would 100% recommend Cocotte Rotisserie! It perfect for catching up with friends or going on a date. We will definitely be retuning!
